I can change the template on a post or page using links in the right column under the post tab but on a category page, they are not available.
It seems to have changed since v6.2
]]>I use woocommerce and I am using “Archive Template” to list my products on a category page. I have one problem here: my products are inside sub-categories, so when I list the parent category each product is listed showing its own category and its category’s parent.
Is there anyway to not list its own category? Otherwise I get too much text listed.

I built a competition web site. The judge logs in and views the posts (the entries) in that category. The category template shows the judge several fields about each post, things they need to read as they are judging the entry. And using a front end plug-in, they can add some notes and mark results, right there on the category template.
BUT i would ALSO like them to be able to view that category in a different layout. One that just lists the post title and the results custom field. Perhaps they would get to that template by clicking a link at the top of the default template, that would bring them to the alternate template.
Any thoughts? Suggestions about how to word a google search to find appropriate solutions? ]]>
I don’t really want blank content displaying, need to have some kind of “no events at this time” message instead. Can you advise?

I’ve been looking some time for this topic into the forum but I was unable to find anything related.
I am using the free version of OceanWP. I have created several categories: blog, podcast, cursos, servicios and I need the blog category showing entries in thumbnail style but the rest in masonry grid style.
I am new to php, I come from HUGO but I still do not realized how the OceanWP theme builds the category pages cause the “only if” I found it is the one form thumbnails.
Summarizing, anyone might help telling me where should I put my new category-$id.php file and which templates withing the partials folder should I use to display entries in masonry grid style?

]]>For each category, when the list of posts is displaying (pages of categories), I shall wish that when a text is enter in the excerpt of the post, the page display the excerpt (for this post) and when the excerpt is empty, the page display all the content of the post.
