Issue with Canonicals

Given the plugin is creating a subfolder to host all the AMP versions of each page on my site this is triggering a canonical issue inside the Google Search Console called “Alternate page with the proper canonical tag” when basically the canonical tag for the “/amp” version of the page is the same as the non-amp version of the page…How to prevent this?

Recently i switched from non www to www. After that i forced google to index my new url with www but Google shows canonical declared which is without www. I want change my canonical url as yoast automatically inserts canonical url. Please help me so that i can change my Canonical url from non www to www.

Critical errors in GSC using AMP and Yoast

I got on my page AMP for WP and YOAST plugin. I use AMP version for mobile. Google Search Console show me crital error with canonicals. Because content of AMP version page is different from non amp ver. The problem is because AMP version canonical definition directs to non AMP. Example:
URL of AMP page: https://promodels.pl/amp/
Canonical URL: https://promodels.pl/
I first asked YOAST about this issue but they told me I need to contact with You. Is there any chance to solve this issue?

Potential canonical issue with mapped domain

Hi all

I have a question in regards to the MU Domain Mapping plugin and a potential canonical issue. How come, all my sub-domains (the mapped ones) are flagged by the SEO Doctor browser plugin as:

” Page is not indexable because this page has a canonical URL set to [https://www.primary-domain.com/mapped-domain/] “

The primary domain is not being flagged with this issue, but all mapped domains are (the actual domain name of the mapped domain appears correct, but I am worried about the canonical alert). Is this something to be taken serious?

Potential canonical WordPress issue incl. no search engine indexing

Hi all

Today I spotted some search engine indexing issue, which after a bit of research, appears to be a canonical WordPress issue. I was checking, if some subpages of my site are in fact indexed, hence the FireFox SEO Doctor tool flagged various pages as non-indexable. I double checked this in google via “site:www.example.com/page/” too and it’s partly true.

I am not sure why, but WordPress somewhat truncates post URLs that go deeper than one level i.e. www .example.com/core-articles/special/thearticle is truncated to www .example.com/core-articles/thearticle. It still works and directs correctly, but if I use the first example of URL with 2 sub directories (so to speak), it gets flagged as non-indexable by google and SEO Doctor. The truncated URL is indexed though.

Any thoughts on that? Does it matter?

How to Solve Canonical Issue?

Hello All,

A wordpress site I got to work for has canonical issue. So I tried below things to find solution:

1) In the setting->general, the URL path in both WordPress address and Site address was set to non www version of the website
2) Tried to upload .htaccess file in all folders of Root Folder by log in to host server.
3) Cleared cache numerous times when I did the efforts explained in the above two steps.

But I cannot solve the issue! The site runs on both paths: www and non www!

Later I had found that there is an inbuilt canonical.php file in the root folder, so deleted the .htaccess files that were installed in the attempt. However, as I don’t know how to workout the code, I couldn’t find a solution!

So guys please help me find solution to solve the canonical issue of my website.

The website is hosted on Godaddy.There is All in One SEO pack plugin with canonical option enabled.
