Whats different … I loaded the jquery pinit plugin from WordPress for images. I thought that might be the problem, so I immediately deactivated the plug in and then removed it. Still no joy the posts in edit mode are not loading!
I’m using the essence pro genesis Gutenberg theme and haven’t encountered any loading issues since I started on WordPress nearly two years ago.
My website address is cutlooseadventure.com
Really appreciate any help someone might have as its pretty scary when you are shut out of your working area.
Many thanks.

In other threads on this topic, the advice given was to deactivate plugins and use theme TwentySixteen. I have taken both these steps and the issue is not resolved.
This applies to both new and existing posts.
For new posts, I can create the title and save it as a draft, but I cannot edit it.
For existing posts, although the text of the post displays fine in the blog “front end”, from the admin “back end” the text is not visible in the post editor. It is completely blank, as if the post had no content.

WP 4.4.
PHP Ver. 5.4
Host: Hostmonster
Browser: Google Chrome
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
I can view all blog posts, but when I attempt to edit them, the visual editor box is blank. I cannot even click my mouse inside the editor box. I cannot switch to the plain text editor.
If I try to create a new post, I can enter a title in the title box, but I cannot click into the text editor box. If I save the new post, I can see the entry in preview, but cannot enter any text into the post.
ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS:
I deactivated ALL plugins and changed the theme to 2013.
Cleared all cache, browsing history, cookies, etc…
Turned computer off and on.
Tried using Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 and Mozilla Firefox.
No change.
I can log out of WordPress and navigate the blog and see all of my posts, so I know the information is still in there somewhere.
I just can’t edit text in the editor or upload media. However, I can see all pictures I have previously uploaded.
Ugh. I know I should have set auto-updates off. I forgot.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who tirelessly review all of these problems and give folks like me help. I really appreciate everything you do.
If there is anything I can do to help in experimentation, please let me know and I’ll report back. Once the issue is resolved I’ll be sure to mark it resolved.
Thank you again! You’re the best.

]]>My WordPress admin is experiencing some weird symptoms. I am running 4.0. I am running a custom theme. These symptoms did not exist as of last night; all was working fine last night. Today, I have lost major functionality. I made not changes last night or today except adding three plugins: Subscribe2, WP Simple Paypal Shopping cart, and Google XML Sitemaps, which I have since disabled. I have tried disabling all plugins, but problems are still present. I tried a restore through my host to last night’s backup. Still nothing.
I’ll also add that this problem has happened ONCE before about three weeks ago (?), yet it suddenly resolved itself and I was magically able to add new posts, etc. (see below) again. Weird. Any help is much appreciated. Here are the symptoms:
ADDING NEW POSTS OR EDITING OLD POSTS
1. Add media button is unresponsive (URL changes from “/wp-admin/post.php?post=1905&action=edit” to “/wp-admin/post.php?post=1905&action=edit#”
2. Shortcodes button is unresponsive (URL changes from “/wp-admin/post.php?post=1905&action=edit” to “/wp-admin/post.php?post=1905&action=edit#TB_inline?width=640&inlineId=mm_sg_container”
3. Edit URL button is unresponsive.
4. Add tag button unresponsive.
5. Drop down menu arrows are unresponsive.
6. The default toggle is Visual; the Text button is unresponsive and HTML code is seen in Visual.
7. Everything else seems to work, even the Save Draft and Preview functions, although some HTML code is visible in Preview page where it should be hidden.
OUTSIDE OF ADD NEW POST OR EDIT OLD POST
1. Jetpack Site Stats page freezes when loading; it says “View Stats on WordPress.com Right Now”, which, if I click on it, successfully takes me to WordPress.com where I can view stats. Otherwise it freezes when it tries to load.
2. The Appearance tab to left, the Widget bars do not allow me to move them, nor do the drop down menu arrows drop down, which means I cannot edit Widget content/code or move them up/down/remove/add.
3. The Media Library does not show ANY photos; it does allow adding a photo (it loads and crunches) but there are NO options, nor does it save in Media Library.
4. Everything else SEEMS to be functioning.
]]>I also checked on older posts, and the edit options are gone for these as well. I did not do anything different recently (such as install a new plugin). I have several other 3.5 blogs and they are fine so far.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
]]>Also, the problem is only when I use Internet Explorer. If I go to my site via Firefox – no problem. (So all is not lost)
Can anyone help please? (Note: I am working on the site; it is not online yet)
Cheers,
Mat G
I am really baffled by this. I have tried disabling all of my plugins, and even changed the theme to the classic one, and still I could not edit any of my posts. Not matter how many times I try to change the post, or even erase it entirely, it will always revert back to the original post as soon as I click update.
Please help.
]]>I have setup a new wordpress 2.8 blog and everything works fine… I created a post and then later wanted to edit it which does not fully work. If I want to edit the permalinks clicking the edit button does nothing. Infcat all of the edits items such as status, visitibilty and publish options do not work.
Is this a bug or is there a fix for this?
BTW clicking on any of the edit option simply sends you to the bottom of the page.
Thanks
