Canadian Age Gate Not Working Properly

Hi Phil,

We used the following files and put them onto our server: age-gate-canadian-province.php and select-dropdown.js.
The age gate seems to work and gives warning messages if the user is not older than the age limit for a particular province. So it works great and then the age gate closes.

However, if the user’s input age is under 21, the next page the user accesses will reload the age gate, and they have to input all the information again.
This continues to happen if the person is under 21, but that is not acceptable for us because most provinces allow ages 19 and over to access our website, as specified in the php file. So it looks like the plugin defaults to users over the age 21 even after we added the custom Canadian province php file.

Could you please do us a favour and address this issue?

I have enabled the jetpack and woocommerce services features and thought my automatic taxes were working… but for provinces not accepting the new HST guidelines like Quebec… it is not adding proper tax rate. How do I fix this?? Thank you.

Hi,
For your information, I had to deactivate your plugin in my wp-admin (backend) because I could not get working our local taxes structures and I wasn’t able to have taxes displayed correctly on my checkout page like this:

Subtotal 10.00$
TPS #12456789 0.50$
TVQ #E123456 1.00$
Total 11.50$

Before deactivation I had something like this (witch is wrong):
Subtotal 10.00$
QC Tax 1.50$
Total 11.50$

* For your information, I was edit ‘QC Tax’ in wp-admin but it was not saving my edited taxes.

Limit to specific ZIP/postcodes not working for Canadian Postal Codes

Hey! Thanks for your hard work on Shipping Zones. I love the new format.

However, I am un able to use the * wildcard in the Canadian Postal Code format.

When I enter M4M 1T5 as a limit, the regex can read it and it allows me to use that shipping zone. If I use M4M *** or M4M*** or M4M****, the regex does not seem to work for the inputted postal code of M4M 1T5. I am not sure how to get around this.

Any advice would be lovely!

Canadian currency

This plugin supports Canadian currency? It works fine with USD but changing it to Canadian currency results in this error at PayPal:

“This recipient does not accept payments denominated in CDN. Please contact the seller and ask him to update his payment receiving preferences to accept this currency.”

I’m sure that my account can accept payments, I’ve already accepted payments using other apps.

I am using this plugin on https://www.jpwisers.com and we are supporting /ca for Canadian users, /us for American users and /au for Australian users. Unfortunately, most Canadian users, when installing a browsers, don’t bother changing or look to change the default language, which is en-US.

My question is, is there a feature that I am missing that allows qTranslate-X to recognize Canadian users because I can’t rely on the browsers default language.

What is the best way to cater to 3 unique markets/languges with a WordPress site

My client is a food manufacturer and currently sells in Canada-English, Canada-French and USA-English markets. They have one website but need to have a version of the website that caters to each of these markets. It may not just be the language that changes, the USA market may cary products that the CAN-ENG market does not, etc.

I’m lost as to what avenue to take and what the best practice may be to solve this. The client would like the user to select the flag of the market they are in and then a customized website experience for that market will be delivered. I’m not sure if I just need a translation plugin like WPML or qTranslate, or if it needs to be a WordPress Multisite?

I appreciate any help and again, if this is not the right place for this just let me know.
