But on this site www.zeninlondon.org/gallery/ I can’t get it to work.
I’ve checked the header and footer files, and they’ve both got the appropriate <?php wp_head(); ?> and <?php wp_footer(); ?> mentions in it.
Actually.. with or without your gallery plugin, the gallery is not picking up any styles.
I added:
figure.gallery-item{display:inline;}
.gallery-item img{border: 5px solid #ddd !important; margin:3px;}
So that every image wouldn’t be on it’s own line.
When I look at the code, it seems that it’s using
and
instead of
and
– like my galleries on my other websites.
I wonder if this could be why the plugin and indeed the whole built-in gallery feature isn’t actually working for me.
I’m using a premium theme called “nexus” which is old and no longer supported by the company I bought it from (indeed, it stopped being supported and was taken off of themeforest about a day after I bought it )
I’ve re-installed wordpress4.0.1 to make sure it wasn’t that.
Can someone/anyone help me ?
Thank you in advance!

The gallery is display:none at load. I retrieve the first of the attached images, and create a text link to this with class fancybox.
This works ok in fancybox, but there are two problems:
1. I only get the image, and no alt-text to it.
2. This image displays twice: the first time without alt-text, and when clicking through the images of the gallery in fancybox view, the same image appears again, this time with the alt-text below.
The best would have been to link directly to the gallery-images, but unfortunately I can’t find a way to do that.
Any hints are appriceated.

I have a question about WordPress’ built-in gallery. When creating a gallery and clicking an individual images, these images open on a blank page.
I am making use of a custom theme (without the single.php file) and I am testing it on a local server (Apache on a Mac). I also have Lightbox Plus installed for overlaying WordPress to display images.
For Lightbox Plus:
I checked the ‘Use For WP Gallery’ checkbox and using ‘‘ as my short code.
With or without the Lightbox Plus plugin the actual gallery does work, only the images, when clicked, open on a blank page.
I do not know what the problem is and how I can fix it. Anybody?
Just read the blurb about the new post 2.3.3 version coming out. Any idea what the new built in galleries will look like? Are these image galleries? (I don’t really keep up). Anyway anybody have a good image gallery plugin I can try in the meantime?
Thanks,
Mark
