This post is a bit delayed, the update has been available for a few days now.

This is an update with bugfixes and updated routines. In recent updates the filters for WordPress where changed a bit which caused some filtering issues. These have now been resolved. The registration and comment filter has been completely redone so it works faster and more reliable. ClassicPress is now officially supported and tested. And on top of that Classic Commerce support has been added as well. You no longer need the WooCommerce spoof plugin to use No-Bot Registration and Classic Commerce together.

I’ve made a number of updates to the dashboard so it’s more consistent throughout my plugins. This ensures a more uniform function and makes future development a bit more easy for me.

Settings have moved
A few versions ago the dashboard for No-Bot Registration was moved to the Tools menu in your dashboard. Following my other plugin, Analytics Spam Blocker. This also frees up the settings menu which is bloated by most plugins which simply stuff their settings screen in there.

Changes for version 1.8.2

Fixed better check for filtering comments/registrations
Tweak replaced alias functions with actual functions
Tweak minor code cleanups

Thanks for fixing the error related to google domains not displaying properly, I still have some completely blank domains showing up and the main domain is just showing up as com now

fails to load bootstrap

Installed twice.
20/20 theme, no other active plugins. clean WP install.

Console shows me these error messages:

Fixes a bug where robots meta values defaulted to 0 instead of null because of a bug in WPDB. This could result in incorrect values for noindex, nofollow , noarchive, noimageindex and/or nosnippet. In order to purge the wrong data, we need to truncate our tables again. This means you will have to go through the indexing process again. We’re very sorry. For sites with more than 10,000 posts, we advise using the WP CLI command to do the indexation on the server.

Anyway, your plugin is currently kind of a requirement for all WordPress sites. That said, it’s disappointing that your code is so consistently buggy, that your code review process is so consistently a failure. Every little (and big) update is about fixing bugs, bugs introduced in previous updates. Bugs, bugs, bugs … and bugfixes … and more bugs.

FWIW, we paid for a developer license to your Analytics plugin, within weeks of your releasing it. What an absolute mess that was.

I found that using shortcode button in the tinyeditor insert tags=”” for the shortcode attribute tag, so the tags retreiving doesn’t work: you should fix it: just replace tags=”” with tag

I found a fix for the breakage after twitter.com API v1.1 updates

I solved the problems people have been dealing with in your plugin. The fix comes down to wordpress having issues with HTTPS requests and not having a valid CA cert, a missing parameter in the access_token as well as a missed URL update for the callback to verify the account login.

I did this by:

–Updating OAuth.php to the latest and adding your class_exists check back in.
–Change the $TO_API_ROOT variable to use https:// instead of https:// in twitterOAuth.php
–Update the $this->accessTokenURL() to accept a required parameter $_REQUEST[‘oauth_verifier] in twitterOAuth.php
–Update the function stc_get_credentials() to use “https://api.twitter.com/1.1/account/verify_credentials” as the url for the stc_do_request() call in stc.php
