Default "Browser Uploader" Progress Bar – Enhancement Request

Hello,

This is a simple request for usability:

Is it possible to integrate a “Progress Bar” for the fallback “Browser-Uploader” in the Media Library?
? The reason it would be beneficial is when someone with a slow connection uploads an image…it just sits there. To the trained eye you would notice the loading in the browser tab, but the people I work with just quite aren’t at that level.

I have search and read for some time now and here are the closest I’ve got to explaining the “Browser-Uploader”, but I don’t know quite exactly where to post for help.

3.5 RC1 Multisite Image Uploader (Browser Uploader) Error

Browser uploader for media in 3.5 Release Candidate One gives the following error message:

Attempted in Chrome Version 23.0.1271.64 m. Debug is set to true; I’m uncertain if this is related to the error message. No plugins were activated on the site. This was a clean install, not an upgrade, of WordPress 3.5 release candidate one.

Thanks for any insights you may have on this. And, again, many, many thanks to the awesome WordPress team and all they do.

-> multi file uploader opens
-> upload file (or do nothing, doesn’t matter)
-> close the upload thickbox
-> I am back in the post or page I was writing , as expected.

-> change to ‘browser uploader’
-> current tab loses focus and new tab opens with old skool browser uploader
-> upload files (or do nothing, doesn’t matter)
-> close the browser uploader

but I am now in the media menu part

(NB: on another note, while I’m at it, this forum lets you choose the WP version, but the dropdown box for version number went up to 3.4.2 , didn’t let me choose 3.5 RC1.)

Nothing happens when trying to 'Upload New Media'

First wordpress site and have come up against a problem already.

No matter what browser I try (IE, Firefox, Safari or Chrome) I can’t use the Media section to upload simple images.

The flash uploader doesn’t work at all (no pop up box) and when I click on the ‘Try the browser uploader instead’ option all I get is a hash # added to the end of the URL. I’ve looked the the source and mine says:

You are using the multi-file uploader. Problems? Try the browser uploader instead.

All I want to do is upload images to use in posts :”-(

Multi-file Uploader Reporting File Size Wrong

Just installed WordPress 3.3.

When I try to use multi-file uploader it is reporting that I have Maximum upload file size: 0KB.

I can still use the browser uploader and have my PHP.INI set at 64M.

But whenever I try to upload a file with multi-file uploader I get the error

Challenge.jpg exceeds the maximum upload size for this site.

Tried multiple files, sizes, etc. Where is wordpress pulling the maximum file size for the multi-file uploader because it is for some reason pulling a null value even though it is set at 64M and the browser-uploader confirms this.

Also, note when I chose the browser upload option it also says 0KB but has not problem uploading files up to 64M the amount I specify in PHP.INI.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Photo Uploader into posts stoped working

Hello,
I need a helping hand with my WordPress, where presented a problem never been. I try to upload a photo in a post, but it′s imposible. After making discription and tags and click on “insert into post”, there apears the ligtbox and at bottom left “ready” and nothing happens. I tryed flash uploader and browser uploader, but not resolve the problem. Close the window also don′t work, i have to click the “back” button and arrive on the previos post. Really strange, has anybody an idea how to resolve?

Could someone tell me how to correct that error I have when trying to upload pictures from the new post window? This forces us to use a FTP program…

“Impossible to create the folder C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\Fishing/wp-content/uploads/2010/08. Check that its parent folder is writable by the server”

Media Library Uploads Not Working

Hello!

I have been trying to upload media to my media library without success. I keep receiving error messages about whether or not the directory and/or parent directory on the server is writable or not.

This is happening whether I try to upload .jpg, .doc, or .docx and whether I use the flash or browser uploader. It is also happening with Firefox or with IE (and both the browsers are up to date).

I have called my hosting company (Hostgator) and have been assured that both that directory and its parent directory are writable.

I’m a true beginner at all this so I request plain English details and I really appreciate your time in answering this question. Thanks in advance!

Photo won’t upload

I did: I have tried several times to upload photos by clicking on the upload image button when I edit a blog. I then hit choose file, upload. It then says Unable to create directory /home/.sites/106/site51/web/wp-content/uploads/2010/03. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I have tried using both the flash and browser uploader. I am able to upload photos if I have a URL, but would like to be able to load photos that do not come from a site.

I expected: I expected to be able to upload my photos easily as I had been prior to a few weeks ago.

WP-Admin Browser Uploader Issue With FORCE_SSL_ADMIN

I recently set FORCE_SSL_ADMIN in wp-config.php and now the browser uploader in wp-admin no longer works. This was working fine before adding the FORCE_SSL_ADMIN = true in wp-config.php but now still attempts to upload images via HTTP instead of HTTPS and the HTTP POST will not work with the HTML 302 redirect to HTTPS. The flash uploader works fine but I would love to get the browser upload working as well. Does anyone have any tips on how to make the Upload button in the browser uploader POST to HTTPS instead of HTTP?
