Captcha Broken on WordPress 5.6 update

Today while doing regular updating, in doing a check of the contact form after updating to WP 5.6, I entered the captcha number and got an “error incorrect security code” message. I tried it 6 times with same result. Left page, came back and tried again. Same result.
I believe the plugin needs an upgrade to be compatible with WP 5.6. Meanwhile, is there a work around?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Please STOP reverting Captcha generation type with EVERY UPDATE!!!

Hi. I have addressed this problem before, but it is still happening. I have my Captcha generation type set to “use file system,” which is the only way it works. Otherwise, it generates a broken image. But every time you guys release an update, my setting reverts back to “use WordPress session,” and my Captcha breaks again. Luckily, I now know to check it every time there is an update and change it back. But I shouldn’t have to. Your updates should not change my settings! Please fix this.

I can’t login to the admin/dashboard because the captcha image is not working. Can you please help me, I need to get in there…!

A broken image appeared where the captcha image should have appeared so it was not possible to log into the site. I’m working with my host now to restore from a back up.

I just updated to the latest version of WP and the Captcha image is no longer showing. It just says “captcha” on one device, another device it looks like a broken image. How do I fix this?
