Getting a blog post notification via email. How?

Hey everyone, I have a client who wants to give his users the option to register on his site to be emailed whenever he posts on his blog.
Is this possible and what is the best way to do it? Any help in addressing this issue or just pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I need some help inserting an option that my newsletter recipients can also subscribe to an e-mail notification of a new blog. I have this functionality in a widget in the sidebar of my site. (www.hamlin-house.com) – I want my 10,000 letter recipients to have the option of being informed when there is a new blog post.

Your advice in this direction would be most appreciated

Hi,

Hope someone can help.

When visitor to my website leaves a comment on my blog 1) it posts the comment automatically on the site and 2) it doesn’t notify me by email that a comment has been made.

How do I ensure I am notified when a comment has been left? I also would like to approve it first before it goes live on my site.

In Settings-Discussion, my settings are;

E-mail me whenever Anyone posts a comment (this is checked)

and

Before a comment appears an administrator must always approve the comment (this is checked)

People have registered for my blog including myself and were not receiving a email notification when a new blog posts. Is there a setting that I need to change or activate?

I’m new to this stuff, but I’ve discovered Google Reader, which can “collect” all the websites you like in one place.

Is this the best (or “easiest to use”) out there, especially for the non-web saavy people?

What my goal is to set up my blog and give people that “subscribe” a notification that a new post is up, but I want it as minimal fuss as possible.

To me, Google Reader still entails telling the user to sign up for Gmail, link to Google Reader, etc.

Is it better to just email them notifications? Spam filters are what I’m afraid will block my email notifications if I do that.

What do you guys recommend, because I don’t expect my readers to come to my site everyday to check if I have a new blog entry, and I don’t think I will be able to commit to a new blog every hour or so.
