How to hide post category from main blog & post navigation

Hi all,

I’m looking to hide a category from showing up on my blog (but keeping it visible on a separate category page).

I’ve set the Post Query on the main blog to only show all other categories, perfect! But when I click on a post, the post navigation shows all posts (which includes the ones that were hidden from the query).

Is there a setting I’ve missed to get this to work?

Hi,

I had a question about a wordpress blog. When I share an article, I want it to fall directly to my blog page, but it falls into the subcategory of my blog page. For example, as I mentioned in the picture, it fell into the unnamed category at the bottom of my blog page. Is there a way to drop directly to my blog page without subcategories?

The blog is only showing 9 main categories. no exclude boxes are ticked. How do I get the other categories to show?

Hello,

I have created a menu to categorize our blog posts. Then I categorized all current blog posts to the relevant category based on the created menu. But when in blog and choose any item from the blog categories menu, it still shows all the posts rather than filtering out the ones that are not related to the selection.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Strange issue with blog category

Hi,
I use WPML to make my site both English and Spanish. However, I’ve just had a strange issue with a blog post I created in English being assigned a category in Spanish. English is the main language for my site. As I have always done, I created the post in English first, selected the relevant categories (in this case “Free Printables” and “All printables”, then used WPML to add the translation of the post in Spanish. However for some reason the English post has also been assigned the category “Imprimibles gratis” (the Spanish equivalent of “free printables”). I have no idea how, as it’s not even an option within the “edit post” window! It’s causing problems, as I use category views to display my posts in each language and now the English post is appearing on my Spanish site. I can’t deselect the Spanish category, because it doesn’t appear in the WordPress menu on the English post, so I’m at a loss as to how to solve the problem. Help, please! Thanks!

I need help. I had been using a separate news site type theme and maybe I should go back to that. I was hoping to use this theme since it has good reviews.

I am needing help with displaying blog posts on the front page. I don’t want my post page to be the front page. I was hoping to have 3 separate categories but I don’t see the option with the layout of within the widgets to put it on the home page. I have very little knowledge obviously as far as to what I’m actually doing. Any help would be appreciated!

Creating a grid layout within a widget on my HP that displays blog categories

I’m trying to figure out how in the world to create, within a widget on my homepage, how to create grid of images that display my different blog categories…then, I want to be able to click on the image to access the blogs within each category listed in a grid format. I’ve been using Content Views and tried to get help from them, but apparently they can’t create the category grid first…It may just be that I can’t do this with the theme I’m using (Genesis Framework with Author Pro Theme from StudioPress), but figured I’d put it out there to see if perhaps anyone knows of a plugin that does this.

Here is an example of my goal…below the main image on: there is a image list…if you click on topics, there’s a neat grid of the posts.

Blog not categorizing properly

I recently had some trouble with my website (www.sleeptightconsultant.com) related to my theme (Headway) and had to do quite a bit of troubleshooting to get things working properly again. It is much improved but I noticed something strange with the blog today and I believe it is a wordpress issue (although I’m not certain).

When you click on a category for blog posts, for example, “toddler sleep,” instead of bringing up all the articles under the category of toddler sleep, it is bringing up all of my blog posts, not choosing that specific category. Same for any of the categories. Also, when you scroll to the bottom of the blog page and it says “older posts,” it is not going to older posts, it is going back to the same ones that were already visible. I know something isn’t right but I don’t know how to fix it. Thank you!
