Really, there are better plugins that handle Title / Description that wordpress lacks. Google is clever enough to understand the content on a generic wordpress page anyway.
Edit: uninstalling both yoast SEO and yoast SEO from this point on. The performance on a decent, 4 core / 16GB server with PHP 7.4 and latest Apache / MariaDB while using yoast products is just garbage. There’s proberly zero audit being done on the “big website” idea and how much unneeded calls Yoast is making. Dont buy.

Hard to trust again!

Moving the data away was done by using the SEO Data Transporter plugin:

That is NOT what causes the 1 star, in fact it would be 5 stars. 1 Start because Yoast CEO decided it’s a good thing to add banners to all sites as almost all recent reviews say (and was mentioned in news sites).
And it remains 1 star until ALL profits that came from the banner sales go into charity. I can’t ask for more though all the stress this caused to site owners, freelancers and agencies will cost more on top of that
]]>When you see the updates (I call them – patches) to plugin coming rapidly, almost daily – sub-minor version comes next day after minor release – and when you read a ChangeLog and you see that they are fixing glitches, introduced just a day ago. You start asking yourself – how come that plugin, one of the MUST HAVES, is having such a poor quality control?
Like – is there anybody even testing the code before pushing it to WordPress repository?
And then this banner came.
And – you could have guessed it – that banner got a bug: it can not be dismissed. Or it could be, but then he reappears again, on a next page.
It’s like – wow, who controls this plugin anymore?
So…
Once I find an alternative which code is more trusted, I am switching.
Enough is enough.
