Hi guys, I’m a beginner at WordPress.

I’m trying to build a theme from scratch (without plugins like Element).

My question is How to divide the web page into sections\divisions?

Hello WordPress community, thank you for taking time to read this.
I am a 17 year old who is very good with technology, but learns from online posts. Because my poblem is a bit specific and I cannot find a direct soluion, I come to you.

I have started a business through our local CEO progam (More on that here .)

I was going through a server space you may know of – Interworx/Siteworx.
I had a mentor helping me, but I just had too many questions so I decided to take up a little side project that might end up being the acstuality of my business.

I make websites for local businesses, and I am doing this through wordpress.

Because Interworx was a little too complicated for me as I was just starting out, I decided to take an easier approach and move to awardspace. It was cheap to play around with and learn the basics of setting up a site.

NOW FOR MY QUESTION(S)
I had an old wordpress.com blog account setup and I decided to map a domain I just purchased through hover. It is being hosted through awardspace and registered with hover. My old blog (Never touched, just used it to mess with wordpress’ settings to see its capabilities.) was austinklasnerdotcom.wordpress.com

1) I have mapped the domain austinklasner.com to that very same account. It has propogated and is working. MY issue is when I type in austinklasner.com/wp-admin it brings me to austinklasnerdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin. I understand that this is editing the same page, but I dislike it. How can I get rid of any spec of the name austinklasnerdotcom.wordpress.com.
This is not for security purposes, just for organizational/ocd means.

2)Given all of this information, I want to know how I can go about installing plugins. I’m pretty sure I need to go into my awardspace file manager, but I do not know if that is the route I actually need to take.
I haven’t read anything other than use wordpress’ admin settings and activate it. I have the free version and want to do a workaround using my server space to install plugins without having to upgrade my wordpress, as this is only experimental.

Please help me, I have a tradeshow to attend in two days, and am having so much trouble setting this up. I still need to design at the very least a homepage by then.

Exporting WP site

I installed WP using this tutorial. And it all ran correctly and i finished my website. But i was expecting the export to be something i’m used to (as i only recently started using CMS-es, wordpress is my fist) like a directory with wp-admin, wp-content etc, and an index.php file, because till now i have made my websites the “old school” way and thats the structure I’m used to uploading to a live server. Instead when i use the default WP tool for exporting i get a .XML file, and when i export with phpmyadmin(even though it gives me some options) it exports as a sql file. Does anyone know how i can export my website in the structure I’m used to or link me to some further reading on what i am supposed to do with these files (Im writing first here, but i will do my research ).

Additional info: Im running a Desktop version of Ubuntu 15.04 and am working on my website locally (localhost).

I installed the plugin, I have my dashboard in English so the pages of woocommerce appeared in English. My site is in Spanish so I thought it would be a great idea to delete the pages, deactivate the plugin, delete it and then reinstall it again.

It wasn’t a good idea at all since now I can get to put them back not in english neither in spanish.

Can anyone help me with this?

I have been trying to find information in google about this but no one solved my problem..

Modify child theme

Hi! I,m a begginer here.

I,m working with Genesis Framework. My child theme (Equilibre) is from another developer.
I just wanted to add a custom slider to the front-page of my website. But the front-page is configured by widgets and I don′t know how to insert the php code of the slider in the featured area (I can′t drag & drop the slider).

Could somebody please help me with this issue?

How do i change the image path file when uploading onto WordPress

Hi everyone, Im new to all this & I\’m currently having a very frustrating issue with WordPress. Ive called up GoDaddy who were originally very helpful & had the problem fixed for me however within the first hour of fixing the issue, the problem started again. I’ve since called up GoDaddy twice & they’ve been very stubborn about helping me even though the first person I spoke to listed how to fix the issue on my account file.

Basically, my issue is that I’m using WordPress however every time I try to upload an image file onto WordPress via the Media Library or WooCommerce Products the image will upload as a blank grey box with the file name. Some of the images which were already loaded onto my website have also dissapeared and instead have the image file name instead of the actual image.

When I spoke to GoDaddy Support the first time, the resolution to the problem was amending the Path File name or something like that. I would not have a clue how to do that, where to go or whats involved. I dont know why it keeps changing either! If it was fixed to the correct path file, why is it changing again & blanking out my images!
