wrong/all files are in the backup

I just discovered two of the sites I run are showing hundreds of backups. I didn’t see them in the google drive I back up to, but started deleting them. Then I noticed that the names of the files that were deleting were backups from other sites! So I think these two sites are showing ALL of my backups. They weren’t set up any different from any others – google drive set to back up every few days. Any idea how to fix this?

Google Drive backup no longer works

This is on multiple sites and normally works fine. Today, few if any work at all. “Google Drive: Have not yet obtained an access token from Google – you need to authorise or re-authorise your connection to Google Drive. (Forbidden for https://auth.updraftplus.com/auth/googledrive) (403)“
There is no option box to manually authenticate.

There may be people crazy enough to skip backing up their WP sites, but they have zero excuse given that Updraft Plus exists. It’s dead simple to set up, and even simpler to use. It shows you what backups you’ve already got, allows you to choose how many to keep, gives you granular control over what they consist of, has tons of options about where to save them, and keeps you informed moment to moment about what it’s doing when you use it.

Oh, and BTW: It’s free for basic capabilities. Great, great plug-in.

This plugin has saved us on numerous occasions, with the pro features we are able to take hourly backups of our databases and 12 hourly file snapshots. We use the remote storage features to ensure we also have off-site backups in another office and in the cloud.

The plugin also has a lot of great features such as ensuring the backup is outside of your working directory and being able to customise the level of compression and sizes of each archive.

Backup issues due to database issues

Hello,

I started the process to backup my WordPress staging site through Duplicator and got a notice. I ran the backup any ways but it would not complete the process. After doing some research, I was not able to figure out the issue so I instead did a backup with Bluehost (my host) and created an account with ManageWP to create a backup with them. Bluehost did not report any trouble although the backup they did included both the current version of the site and the staging version.

ManageWP was not successful however and I believe that it is because of the same issue. I am new to WordPress and just starting to learn, this is well above my understanding. Please Help!

ManageWP: “We have detected database tables we believe do not belong to this WordPress install. Do you want to automatically include them in future backups?”

There are a lot of these all starting with staging_cK3_ which I am assuming is referring to the site itself.

Duplicator: “The notices for tables are 10MB, 100,000 records or names with upper-case characters. Individual tables will not trigger a notice message, but can help narrow down issues if they occur later on.” Followed by a long list similar to what follows.

Where are submissions found in backups

On our corporate site, which I don’t wish to share on a public forum, someone has overwritten the submissions going back many months when deploying from the staging site a few days ago. There have been further changes and submissions on the site since so we don’t want to just restore a random full backup. I have combed through the backups but I can’t find either in files or the database where Ninja Forms submissions are saved. Can you let me know where in the root directory or database I can find these?

Updraft is backing up several times per day. Where are the controls to change this. In my case, a weekly backup would be more than adequate.
