From time to time, but not every time, I receive by mail an error message from XCloner Backup as follows:
Subject: pre_auto_update – backup error

Backup Site Url: https://thewebsite.fr
<>Error Message: SplFileInfo::getType(): Lstat failed for /home/blabla/www/wp-content/backups-Nt9TX//.xcloner/database-backup.sql

What’s it about?

Sadly, I lost several crucial pages on my site, then looked at the back up.

Hidden in the emails was the fact that it was NOT working, surely this needs to be in the headline not buried in the text? Who is going to open every email just in case it has failed?

Is the Files only back up any use on its own, or will that just make things worse?

I’ve not been able to take a backup in the last week or so despite multiple attempts. It either fails during the backup itself or during pruning.

How to fix Google blocking backups?

My UpdraftPlus backups are supposed to go to my Google drive. I have created a directory there that has public access that will hold the backup files. But the UpdraftPlus backups fail with this error message:

Google Drive: ERROR: Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?) (Invalid request (refresh token not present).) (no_refresh_token)

I have tested the directory and it OK to load and delete files. But yet UpdraftPlus cannot store it’s files there. I am running Wiindows 11/64 current version and my WordPress is 6.3.1.

This website has been using Updraft for a long time. In the last year or so it has been moved to a different host. It was a neglected, broken site and restoring, then redoing it was not a smooth process. It was set up to automatically backup whenever updates were performed. It looks like this broke down in March and now when I press the “backup now” button, within seconds there is a notification that it has finished running. But nothing new shows in the list ending in March.

Further, it says it needs to be connected to the account but that button doesn’t work and when I’ve tried logging in, neither of the possible emails is accepted as belonging to an account. I don’t know what to make of this and am wondering if I will need to switch to a new backup solution. What is going wrong?

I followed everything, but a new error message came up :

BMI-GJfa6rrT-86898

It stopped at 49% saying there is not enough space for the backup. Can I choose the location the backup is stored?

Backup fails post migration to new host

The plugin successfully created a backup before migrating the site to a new host. Now at the new host (Dreamhost) I’ve updated the FTP settings but the backups are failing. I’ve downloaded the log file. Can you help me to sort this out?

I was about to try the plugin and it was just a clean WP installation with a couple of pages inside. I was using the default setting, just disabled the filter for the “What will be backed up?” section. This is the Debug code: BMI-imNh0uGg-66926

Backup spinning its wheels and freezes…with solution

I’ve tried backing up my website several times now with no success. I’ve increased max php time to 300 and increased “number of rows” in BG settings to 10000, but still no luck.

What happens is I click the Backup button and a small loading circle spins for less than a second. Then, my ability to scroll on my site is disabled and there’s no popup window at all with any backup options like there used to be. The last auto backup was on July; I didn’t even know it stopped backing up until today, when I updated my site to WordPress 6.1.

Solution Update: Soon after typing this message, I disabled all plugins on my site except BG and it worked again. So something was blocking the popup to select my backup. Going to switch my max php time back to 60 for now.

The backups for this site have begun to fail. Because of the current settings only failed backups and their logs are visible on the site. If I’m reading it correctly, the first one seems to be fine until it gets into saving to Dropbox. the second is after creating a new exclusion and changing the chunk size to the default. After that I also began to get other error messages on the site:

Can anyone offer some guidance with this? I’d really like to get the backups going to Dopbox again.
