Elementor After struggling to print backgrounds on my websites unsuccessfully, I have concluded that it could be an Elementor issue. All other websites tried have printed the backgrounds. Any that is done with Elementor (including elementor.com) do not print web backgrounds. Please check.

What I altered was each page’s code to make all table cells have a transparent background. This was the only way I could find to get rid of the default solid black background they had previously. By assigning transparent backgrounds for each
(that was the only thing that worked), it allowed the background colors as defined in the style.css coding to be seen behind the page’s content.
In the style.css code, I changed the background command on the .content-area, .right-sidebar .widget-area, .site-footer, and .site-header to “background-color:hsla(x,x,x,x)”. For the footer I had to add !important to get it to change color. I didn’t add or delete any coding, I just changed the color language there.
If I chose to do it the other way around and create my semi-transparent background colors via each table and instead asked the content areas to be transparent, it would leave my blog and shop without any backgrounds since there is no custom tables there.
But I have a problem, and I’m not sure if it existed before changing the colors. I don’t have a smart phone so I rarely remember to check the site on a mobile device. I did so today, and those semi-transparent backgrounds disappear on mobile, leaving my white text ilegible on a busy background image. The default menu background colors also disappear, which is not something I have altered in any coding. The custom sticky menu I added via plugin works, but the default WP menu has no color behind the menu options on mobile.
I tried switching all my custom bg colors to rgba just now (darn it, I had it right where I wanted it in hsla), just in case hsla isn’t supported on mobile or something. Frankly I’d never heard of hsla before today (can you tell I learned coding 20 years ago?). But I still have no backgrounds on mobile, so that’s not it Besides, it doesn’t explain why mobile menu has no background…
Ideas on how to force a background for mobile content and menus?
Also, am I allowed to combine two questions in one post? How the heck do I get rid of the massive gap between my header and body?! I managed to reduce it on a few pages by altering the margins in the page code, but I can’t access page coding for all pages (blog, shop, etc).
Any help with how to do this would be great. I tried a few different things but I am not sure exactly what the CSS code would be and where it should go – If it would be a plug-in I have to download, or a code input in the theme somehow, or within WordPress. I did put custom code in my theme settings that changed the text color, but I didn’t know the proper code (since I copied and pasted that coding from a forum discussion) for what I needed (background white for all posts, not pages).
It seems like it should be simple, but with that said I can’t figure it out. :O
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I’m a WordPress.com Business subscription user. I used to have the Tortuga theme then decided to change to something else, before realising I was a fool and switching back!
My problem is that the option to change a custom background image doesn’t seem to be there any more, and I’m sure it used to be. My old custom background image is still there (it’s a fuzzy red image I uploaded) and is still active, but I’ve got another image I’d like to change it to.
Instead, I only have the option to change it to a solid colour, which isn’t really what I’m looking to do.
Is this a feature that was removed at some point or is there a bug somewhere?
Thank you!
I was wondering if it’s possible to edit the width of an Elementor block/div?
I know that you can divide a block/div into two or more columns of varying width, however, when I do this, I lose the ability to only adjust the background for each of these columns on their own.
Ideally, I would like to divide content on my home page into two columns: the one on the left would feature text, a brief description, and a shop now button, all with a background behind it. The second, would feature a product example without a background or a white background.
Is this possible in Elementor? I linked to my website above; but for more context, I was hoping to go for something similar to this site: https://www.bluecrate.com. Notice how some of their div’s are divided in half on their desktop display.
Thanks for the help!
