Under Blogs > WordPress > Edit Installation Details > I’ve ALWAYS uncheck Auto Upgrade (If checked, this installation will be automatically upgraded to the latest version when a new version is available.)
However, it still Auto Upgrades. I just got upgraded from 4.3 to 4.3.1. This has continually occurred with previous versions of WP.
How can I fix it this so I don’t get Auto Upgrade to latest version?
Thank you. Standig by.
]]>Nothing to do, it doesn’t work.
The site continue to work (www.mouni.it) but I can’t access to control panel.
Folloqing your instructions in forum, I understood that I didn’t disabled plugins, I did only the backup of everything.
I thought that the automatic updating were automatic in everything.
What can I do now?
]]>I blithely clicked the ‘auto-upgrade’ to WordPress 4.0 from the Dashboard of my wordpress site (www.jg-innes.co.uk). Once it completed, it logged me out of the system, and now I can’t get back in! There aren’t any error messages.
If I put in incorrect log-in details, it works normally to tell me that they’re incorrect. When putting in the correct details, the address bar loads the following address, and the screen appears to just refresh itself:
https://www.jg-innes.co.uk/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jg-innes.co.uk%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1
I can’t get past it. I’ve tried everything on the ‘Login trouble’ page of the Codex, apart from going into the database settings.
Any ideas?
Thank you very much!
]]>1. I went to the wp-config and added this line on the end of file
define( 'WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE', true );
2. I am using .git on this installation so I added this line aswell:
add_filter( 'automatic_updates_is_vcs_checkout', '__return_false', 1 );
3. I installed Background Update Tester-plugin which told me that anything should be alright:
PASS: Your WordPress install can communicate with www.remarpro.com securely.
INFO: The folder was detected as being under version control (.git), but the automatic_updates_is_vcs_checkout filter is allowing updates.
PASS: Your installation of WordPress doesn’t require FTP credentials to perform updates.
PASS: All of your WordPress files are writable.
Now I waited a few hourse, loaded the pages, relogged into backend, changed browsers, emptied cache, BUT still I am 3.9.1.
Question now:
-What did I do wrong?
-Any different solutions to get a fully automatic upgrade on wordpress?
I am unable to access the back end of my site now. When I try to access my dashboard I following error message I get referred to this page:
https://musicandspirits.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F
And I get teh following error message:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare install_wtwp() (previously declared in D:\Hosting\11261898\html\musicandspirits\wp-content\install.php:36) in D:\Hosting\11261898\html\musicandspirits\wp-content\install.php on line 93
I have tried renaming all plugins and themes by adding -disabled to the end of the folders as well as the themes as someone suggested. However, I am unable to rename the folder of my current theme since it is in use.
I am pretty freaked out. I am not a coder and my website is critical to my small business and requires regular updates.
can someone please HELP?

I have some knowledge of using my FTP account but I would like to avoid manually updating if at all possible as this is not something I am confident doing now that the site is up and established.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
]]>I had loads of sites auto update 3.8.1 over the past 24 hours – but one didn’t email. Then this morning I go to check this site and it had white screened both front and back end.
I traced it with debugging to find that query.php (which was one of the files in the upgrade) was only 55kb when it should have been 105kb. Just ended mid line.
So, I backed up and swapped over this query.php with one from a working 3.8.1 installation and the site/admin came back online.
As a side note, as soon as it started working again – the missing auto update email then came through.
Not sure why this happened, and not very happy that it did (bye bye auto updates for now) but I thought I would share for the benefit of anyone else hitting the same issue and also wordpress bug team perhaps as well.

]]>Now I am experiencing issues because of OP auto updates. Every time OP server run update my custom code lost.
I have also installed Disable Automatic Updates plugin to stop automatic updates, but its not working as expected.
Also OP support do not provide me optimal solution, how can I extend plugin or Stop automatic updates.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

My website is hosted with GDI so i manage it via FTP ( FileZilla)
