How do you remove the “By (author)” tag on posts? I am the only user for the site so I don’t need to show who published an article as I am aggregating from other sources anyway.

Og: description and author tag missing

Hi, I am having an issue with Facebook and Pinterest. First, I’m not seeing og:description in Page Source on Facebook. I have disabled all plugins and re-activated them to fix duplicates tags but still having the issue with og:description being missing. I have tried to manually enter a description in Yoast under Facebook description. However, it still doesn’t work.

Also, I am unable to validate Author meta tags for Pinterest which . Those seem to be missing as well.

I have already read through many similar issues on this forum but nothing suggested seemed to work. I’ve been trying to figure it out all day. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi there!

I’m using this awesome plugin on my website (educationaround.org) but I recently had my first problem with it: i followed the steps to show author tags on Facebook post previews but it does not work. My blog has around 10 editors – could it be because they are registered as editors and not authors? But still, it doesn’t work for me (admin) either.
Other plugins installed are Jetpack, Multisite, Elementor, Akismet, UpdraftPlus and Team Members, if needed.

Getting Warning: DOMElement::setidAttribute ID theAuthor already defined in …/plugins/simple-amp-master… on line 424 error.
This message appears ten or more times then down past the messages you can see the site but the plugin does not take on the styles of the original theme (maybe I will try installing as a child theme and switch enqueue to stylesheet.)

I just wanted to post the errors I am getting incase something with the_author_ tag is funky.

Problem w/facebook shared image

When I share my website on facebook, under the site title and site description there is the URL and next to it a | and then an author name from my site. The problem is, it’s not the author of the home page and I can’t find where that author is coming from to change it. I have run it through the Facebook debugger several times, but the author name doesn’t change. Where is this coming from?

I can access the author by simply clicking the author name. But when I try to list down all the authors, this page is simply not accessible, Error 404.

which is supposed to list down all the authors I have created so far. Like this –

I have bought this theme from the above site. Author and tag list are working fine in the demo site. But after installing this theme in my site, I am wondering why those links are not accessible. I also checked the editor and there is a php file named ‘author-list.php’ which will do all the task to show the authors name in a page – “https://www.quoteschart.com/author/”. Any suggestion to fix this will be greatly appreciated. I am a newbie in wordpress. Thanks.

Author Tag displayed as link for only one user

So I have WPSSO, and in the facebook open graph meta only one user is having his author tag linked to his facebook profile. I have attached two examples below:

the one with the underline is the user who gets his facebook profile linked.

I checked both the users and they both have their facebool URL’s added in the user settings. I also debugged the posts through open debugger and for the one who’s link isnt displayed, I got this warning:

Meta with name instead of property | The meta tag on the page was specified with name ‘author’, which matches a configured property of this object type. It will be ignored unless specified with the meta property attribute instead of the meta name attribute.

through the debugger, I did find that the meta tag for the author had a link to his profile which is this:

but I have no idea why it is not working. Can anyone please help me with this?

I could see this for a while, but the official announcement came about 2 weeks ago, see this: https://media.fb.com/2015/06/18/using-author-tags-to-grow-your-audience/

A share has the information about the author (page or profile), making it easier to like a page / follow a profile, directly from that screen.

Is it possible to add this in WordPress SEO? I would definitely not want to install another plugin for a line in the page header (or manually add it).
