I’m having trouble with the old “[an error occurred while processing this directive]” error, but it’s only in certain scenarios. It’s only occurring on certain sites in my network and only when I try to visit the dashboard. Some subdomains work, some don’t. All use the same theme and both are accessible on the frontend. These are sites that have worked for years, but not are getting the error. The only major change has been updating PHP to 7.4

Things I’ve tried:

Using that recursive script to change file permissions
Removing
Deactivating all plugins by renaming the plugins directory
Wiping out the .htaccess file so that only WordPress network entries remain
Ensuring that the subdomains are specifically defined on Bluehost (instead of just being covered under a wildcard)

Anybody have any bright ideas of things I could try? I’m at a loss at this point…

I’ve search every forum for a solution on this.

Some action on our site are returning error : [an error occurred while processing this directive]

It happens when we add a new post, new page or edit post/page. Sometimes the error happens but the changes are made anyway. For example, I create a new post, the error comes at publish time but the post is live.

The site is fully functional and I can access the admin portal.

I tried the solution proposed :
Change Permalink setting
File permission using a script (644/755)
Re-install wordpress
Restart PHP service
Reset PHP.ini file
Reset .htaccess file

I’m out of solution.

I know this has been addressed before but it didn’t help me figure out how to fix it.

I too moved my site from one host to another.
I did this by copying my public_html to a new server.
I did an export of the mysql database.
I recreated the database on the new server.
Edited my wp-config.php to match the new server.
The folder structure is the same as it was on the old server.
None of my site pages work over and above the front page.

I get “[an error occurred while processing this directive]” no matter what link I click.

Any help would be appreciated

Just realized, I am not sure what version of WP I am running.

Hello!

A while back here began to appear the error

an error occurred while processing this directive

This error sometimes appeared, and was increasing frequency. Now, in every post that I will make the error appears. I click publish, spends a few seconds and the error appears. Today I was getting the error 500 when trying to publish. Delete and reinstall the Jetpack, and 500 error disappeared, but “an error occurred while processing this directive” continues.

I’ve done several tests with other plugins, I changed the theme, and even then the error continues. If I disable the Jetpack, everything works perfectly.

Can you help me?

I installed Sucuri Security – Auditing, Malware Scanner and Security Hardening on a website today and I get this error when trying to run a Malware Scan.

Everything else seems to be working fine.

Hi all,
I just transferred my WordPress site from one cPanel host to another cPanel host under the same domain name.
I imported my database properly via phpMyAdmin and transferred all files and folders.

The home page of the website is shown properly.

I disabled all plugins, I created a new test page, I updated WordPress but I still get the same error.

Can anyone help, please?
