I am not seeing an option to define the image’s alt text—where can this be added?

Hello,

We recently started to use the WebP solution from this module, however it seems to strip the alt tags from the images and as such impacting SEO and accessibility features for images. This only seems to happen for images that were already in the media library.

It’s only after I do a manual regeneration for these images that it creates things like alt text and title tags for the images attached to it again.

Any chance you could introduce a fix for this issue?

Un plugin assez cool qui m’a permit de gagner pas mal de temps dans la génération des métadata de mes images !

Quelques clicks et toutes mes images étaient nickel en terme de textes alternatifs et titres, plus rien n’était nommés basiquement “sans titre 1. 2.3” etc… :’)

Quelques minutes et hop !

Hello. We’re using this theme and noticed the images for product images do not display a tooltip with the alternate text on them. We’ve set the alt text properly but when hovering the mouse over the image in the product page, doesn’t show up anything. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!

I’m using your superb plugin on several sites, but Google is applying SEO penalties to me because the tags don’t contain an alt tag (Example: alt=“The Best WordPress Plugins!”).

I need to get rid of the alt-tag / have an empty alt-tag because of government accessibility regulations.

I tried to empty the var alt_flags = ""||{}; in the flags.js but the alt-tag didnt change. I also tried it in the gtranslate.php file, but had no success.

the speed test site (https://pagespeed.web.dev) showed me and deducted points for a small accessibility issue.

Text from diagnostics:

Image elements have attributes ([alt]) that are redundant text.
Informative elements should have short descriptive alt text. Alt text that is exactly the same as the text next to a link or image is confusing to screen reader users because it is read twice.

Would it be possible to change the text to “alt” in some update of the plugin? Or possibly change it so that by default it says, for example, the words alt=”playback service logo” or alt=”player company logo”?

So that it will be fine for screen readers as well, because they won’t show the same word twice in a row.

Un petit plugin étonnant, tout simple qui ne nécessite aucun réglage et ajoute des textes alt aux images qui n’en ont pas grace au titre. C’est tout ce dont j’avais besoin, ce plugin m’a fait gagner un temps fou. Merci au dévelopeur.
