Incorrect Author

I am the administrator and added a post; there are 2 users who are editors or authors; although I was logged in as admin, the admin name isn’t an option under “Post Author.”

How can I fix this?

Cannot Select Myself (Admin) As Author in DropDown Anymore

I was posting a few articles on my site when I noticed that it was posting as another author and not myself. I went to edit the post and noticed that my Authors are listed, but not myself anymore. I am the only Admin in the user group, but I’ve always been able to post new posts as myself and see myself in the dropdown as an option.

I appear to have stumbled onto a bug…will see if I can describe below.

Let’s say I have two admin users (both with full administrator capabilities) on a blog, ‘admin1’ and ‘admin2’. I log in as ‘admin1’ and change the author of a particular page to ‘admin2’. I log out. I then log in as ‘admin2’ and go to the Edit Pages panel of the dashboard.

Here is the problem: when I click EITHER the ‘Edit’ or ‘Quick Edit’ links underneath the name of the page and try to change the author back to ‘admin1’, ‘admin1’ DOES NOT SHOW UP in the drop-down list.

Hopefully this can be fixed, as I am not sure how to change a page back to the original author in this scenario.

Author on post not listing properly

Hi all…
I am actually on 2.7.1. I just posted a story/article on my site (https://www.wikidstory.com) but the author did not list properly. I am signed in as me, the admin, and all the revisions on the post show that I have done them. But at the very bottom of the post, there is a AUTHOR drop down menu. I am not listed in there. Only the other registered authors on my blog are shown there.

The result is that I cant get ME/MY NAME to be listed as the author, rather it just defaults to the 1st author in the drop down.

If you have any advice, I would surely appreciate it. Thanks!

Cannot Select or Change Post/Page Author in 2.7.1

I cannot change a post’s author. The dropdown box to do this doesn’t exist for me, either in the quick edit view or the full edit view. My login has full administrator privileges and I made a new administrator level login to check if that would work, but it doesn’t. If I edit another author’s previously made post under my login, it sets it to the login I was using when I edited it.

What can I do to fix this??

Hi, I’m fairly new to WP but I’ve been working on setting up my blog and the tutorial said to go to the admin button on the top right hand corner but it’s not there. There’s : Howdy, Turbo and Logout. Admin is missing. What can I do?

Not Able to Publish Under My Own Username?

Whenever I create a new post, WP doesn’t list my username as a choice as a Post Author. It lists all the other editors. I am the admin account, and am logged in as myself, but when I create a new post, my username isn’t listed as a possible Post Author. I can publish as any of the other editors and then go back and reselect myself as an author after publishing again, but that’s not how it supposed to work. Any suggestions?

I’m using WP 2.7, updated as of last week. Had the problem since 2.5, my first install. My admin account was the original created during the original install.

Hey guys,

I just upgraded to 2.7, and everything is running correctly expect one thing: when i try and login to the admin, the welcome message always says “Howdy, Jesse…” no matter which user I log in with.

Anyone know the fix for this?

Hey guys, whenever I author a post on my site (www.blueseatblogs.com), it comes up as from a different author. I’m the admin of the page, and my display name is listed as Dave. However, whenever I post, it comes up as a different author (Mike).

Interestingly enough, when I tried to change it manually by editing the post author, my name doesn’t even come up as a choice.

Any ideas? Thanks.
