I am unable to login to a site we are building on wordpress.com A password reset request generates an email with this link:

https://aireadinessxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.wpcomstaging.com/account/?action=rp&key=eSCbh7Yp53PTNG46IBlm&login=pxxxxxxxx99

When I try to reset the p/w I receive the above key invalid message.

I know this was reported in early 2020 and was reportedly fixed in v2.3.4 however we are using v2.5.4

Other admins for the site have this problem. WP.com have disabled the plugin to bypass the problem. What are we doing wrong?

The password I recorded for my admin account that will let me edit and post to my blog is not working. I have requested a new one and get an error “The email could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.” I have contacted AWS (Hosting site) and e-mailed back and forth with Jetpack and WordPress.com. They sent me to the foruims for help. I am NOT a programmer; I caanot edit SQL, and the things I find on Google start with logging in to wp-login.php – which is what I cannot do. Does anyone have a simple step by step process this idiot can follow to get back into my blog, or do I need to dump it and find another software I can figure out how to use? I am beyond frustrated; I have been trying to get this fixed for 24 hours and it took an hour just to figure out how to even ask the question here… Thank you.

Email notification stop working updating Admin email id

Hi
I had to change the Admin email id. It did not work through the Admin section so i went into PHPMYADMIN and changed from Users and options table. This worked.
However now the email notification, that were going from the system have stopped, for the new email id.

Hi all
for unknown reasons, WP doesn’t recognize anymore my longtime admin password so I clicked on the Lost Your Password and added my mail address to receive the link to set up a new PW.
Problem is the mail hasn’t arrived and I am stuck with no access to my WP admin area.
What can I do now?

I can access www.wordpress.com—to add material…blah.blah.blah.
I can access the host site (HostMonster).

I cannot get the stupid ADMIN password to work so that I can change my theme. I’ve reset it…I’ve redone it—it WILL NOT let me log me in to edit my theme. I’m so frustrated I could scream.

When I go to the host–it links me once again to the ADMIN log in—which doesn’t work. The ADMIN LOGIN keeps saying USER ID invalid…but it is NOT. I’ve checked and recheck it. I’m going in circles. How does one get this fixed? The admin password has been reset multiple times without luck.

Any help is appreciated a thousand times over.

I have been unable to login to my WP admin for a week or so. I have tried every method under the sun and nothing works –

I have tried a password reset (gives a ‘Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid’ error).

I have tried to change the password in phpadmin, but still wont let me login.

I installed a emegency recovery script on my server – still can’t login.

I contacted my hosting, who tell me they can’t seem to change the admin password either .

I think I have exhasuted evry avenue to get logged in and nothing works. Anyone got any idea what on earth is preventing me from gaining access to my admin section? I have nenver had this problem before on any other site when I have lost my password

we are trying to figure out how to make sure no one who were given a login and password can access our wordpress account.

Basically, the question is: how can we make sure no one else has access to the wordpress back end of our website, including our web guy who is the only one who has the admin login and password, but does not work with us anymore. we want to make sure he does not “sabotage” our site by accessing it… He gave us few month ago access to the site but not the main admin account. is there a way we can access it anywhere or delete it?.
