The login link to my site is: https://smallclaimservice.apps-1and1.com/wp-login.php
PLEASE NOTE: I fear that if I attempted one of the solutions I found I would make the situation worse because of my lack of computer smarts.
I’m asking for clear and detailed help to fix this problem. Please help! Thank you.

I’ve tried renaming the wp-content/plugins and wp-content/themes but nothing doing. I’ve downloaded and FTPd the twenty eleven theme and replaced that.
I’ve tried renaming the .htaccess file
I’ve tried a different browser.
I’ve tried typing /wp-admin/index.php and wp-login.
I’ve been into c-panel but can’t see anything to help me there.
Anyone got any suggestions??
Thanks
Mark
When I go to the home page, www.paws-and-effect.com, I get this message: Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/content/j/a/n/janea/html/wp-load.php on line 46
When I try to access the site through the admin panel I get this message: Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/content/j/a/n/janea/html/wp-login.php on line 497
I wouldn’t mind tooling around in whatever parts of the code need to have the $ removed, but I don’t know what parts those are and I don’t want to completely bugger the site!
]]>Then I created a new folder called blog in my root directory and put in this php file. I then went into the admin panel and accidently changed both the website URL and blog URL to https://www.mywebsite.com/blog and now I can’t get into the wp-login.php.
I am not able to access any of the admin functions nor am I able to see the website properly now. I know I should have done this on a practice domain, but it’s not like I’m losing huge money by having the site down.
Can anybody help me with this please?? Thanks!
]]>I am new to this so be gentle!
I have installed WordPress, filled in the relevant bits on the config page. Installed it as instructed along with alkl the files & all appears ok. Tried to log into the admin but it tells me my password isn’t valid. SEnt for a new password but the page comes up with; Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.
It didn’t ask me to set a passord up at the setup as it stated WordPress was already installed.
How do I either get a password or find the one I have?
Regards
Richard
