No way to dismiss admin message

I was updating some plugins today and had an admin message on my dashboard telling me I needed to update my dropbox apis. Two of the jobs on the list didn’t use dropbox to I “fixed” the one that did but there was no way to dismiss the admin message. I believe this is against WordPress policy concerning what can be displayed on the dashboard as an admin message.

I ended up having to deactivate the plugin

The “Welcome Email Sent!” admin message continues to show up when loading up a Page in WP. It started after I resent the unconfirmed emails a reminder to confirm their address. I was concerned that it was resending over and over again, spamming those that haven’t confirmed yet.

I added myself as an unconfirmed and, thankfully, it’s not resending, however the admin message persists and I’m not sure when or how it will go away.

multisite compatible?

I just installed on a multisite and network activated, but it appears that messages are restricted to sites, not broadcast across all sites, correct? I’m looking for a replacement for the WPMU Admin Message plugin, which apparently is no longer supported (it’s been integrated into their branding plugin, which we don’t want).

Btw, your plugin works great and is just what we need!…if we can simply get it to work across a multisite so we can be in touch with all admins.

WordPress Admin Notice

Hello,

I am working on a plugin at the moment, and one thing that I need to implement is and admin notice.

I have the admin notice working fine but what I want to know is if it is possible all the user to hide the admin notice via a link/button in the notice i.e. [hide] or a little cross (x).

At the moment the notice is just there indefinitely.

Add Admin Message to front Dashboard

Hi everyone,

I have a question that I just can’t seem to find the answer to via google or the WP forums.

I want to add a message to the top of the dashboard regarding supporting the service via donations (I only want the admin to see this at the moment). I really want to have it where you get the “upgrade to version X.X” message.

I hope someone out there can help as I am sure it can be done.

An Administrator Sticky Note

Is there a way to leave a message on the administration page (Dashboard) so that any admin will see it?

I’d like to leave a prominent message there, like a sticky note, to draw the attention of any admin to the README files that describe the various tweeks and customizations to the site.

I could create pages and simply leave them unpublished, but something more prominent would be better.
