Missing “Add New Plugin” button in wordpress menu

Recently I noticed that I no longer see the button that allows me to add a new plugin in the Plugins menu in wp. I’m running wordpress 6.0.2. I don’t remember exactly when I noticed that the button went missing, but it has been gone for some time now. What should I be looking at here to bring the button back?

Could you do an update to get it out of the 2 year status?

Hey Pippin,
I’m doing a Multisite split and migration so evaluating all the plugins used.
This one wasn’t showing up when searching inside the site so had to manually download it for the new network.

It seems like it still works fine. Could you do a check and update the version?

P.S. I’ve successfully started a Multi Network install of 3 Multisites. It’s going to be a fun project I’ll tell you about some time.

Installing Askimet as new plugin

I am trying to find a plugin to put a Twitter feed in my sidebar and when I go to the “Add New Plugin” page, I get, “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.” What gives?

Using Twenty Seventeen theme already which is fine. Just staring another website with this theme but there is no ability to add new plugins anywhere on the plugin page.

Have I missed selecting something for it to appear or just plain daft?

cannot access "add new" plugins page

After the latests update the back end of my site has been extremely slow.

I cannot access my “add new” plugins tab.

I cannot view the “WordPress News” tab and it reads an error message as follows – RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: connect() timed out! It also reads -RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Failed to connect to 2607:f8b0:4007:807::200e: Network is unreachable.

I also cannot view “Latest From WPBeginner” tab and shows a little winking character.

My Google Analytics went crazy and wouldn’t connect, so I tried re-installing which was a mistake since I cannot even get to “Add Plugins”.

Please someone tell me this is a WP problem. I’ve already check with my host and they tell me everything is fine, when obviously it’s not.

Hello. I just migrated my WordPress site from my local server to a remote one. In the dashboard of the remote site, when I go to add a new plugin, I get this error message:
“An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration.”

Is this a hosting issue? I did not get this error on my local site.
