500 errors from Jetpack connection issues

Our hosting provider alerted us to a flood of 500 errors in our access log, and helped us isolate this line: /wp-json/wpcom/v2/memberships/status?source=gutenberg

“So what is happening here is that jetpack is trying to check some kind of your membership status with them and it is failing even if the JetPack is connected.”

500 error on gallery backend

I noticed that although all images were optimised to webp according to litespeed and quic.cloud, on frontend I was still getting the non webp versions. I proceeded to destroy all optimization data through the image optimisation interface of the plugin, and re-generated the optimised images, which fixed the issue. However now, when I click on WordPress gallery in backend, I get a 500 server error

To my knowledge, I only get the 500 error on the gallery backend page, and nowhere else.

API error 500 when attempting to use SEO Analyzer

Hi. New Rank Math user here. I’m attempting to run the SEO Analyzer. When I click the big “Start SEO Analyzer” button, I get a progress bar that says “Analysing Website”, which runs to 100%, pauses for 3-4 seconds, then gives a small message “API Error: HTTP 500 error.”.

I’ve tried to find the cause of the 500 error, but I can’t find any trace of a 500 error on my webserver during that timeframe. I looked in the nginx access and error logs and the WP debug.log. No trace of anything wrong there.

500 error on Metaslider Javascript

Hello. When loading a certain Metaslider slideshow my browser throws a 500 error. It looks like it isn’t loading the Javascript. Confusingly, another Metaslider slideshow on the same page works just fine.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin but get the same problem. This same problem manifests when trying to preview the slideshow on an unpublished WordPress page:

and actually causes *published* pages to fail completely:

I can’t see any meaningful difference between the slideshows that work and the ones that don’t.
How do I get the Javascript to load?

Wordfence causing 500 error in Customize area

Hi all,

I’ve found that when I have the Wordfence plugin activated, navigating to?Appearance > Customize?in my site’s?dashboard consistently directs me to an HTTP ERROR 500 page. It is definitely tied to Wordfence; I have tested this by deactivating all plugins and activating them one at a time.

The website on which I am using Wordfence is an intranet for confidential employee communications and is behind a firewall, so not useful to share a link here, unfortunately. Let me know if there is anything I can do on my end to provide further information that would be useful for troubleshooting; thanks for any help you can provide.

Import Failed, Error: error (500)

I get the 500 error.

It happens very quickly in the process (after less than half a minute).

Details: The content gets imported but media doesn’t. As if the process breaks on media.

The “cheap hosting” in the documentation isn’t helpful as I’m not on a cheap hosting (tested on localhost and two separate hostings I’ve used for years), I’ve used OCDI before and had no issues (other than the yellow warning for empty strings on previous plugin versions) and the demo data itself is relatively small test data with 4 pages, 4 posts and 12 products.

When I try WordPress’s own Import tool to import media it works fine.

Several repeated demo import attempts fail almost instantly (as if it flies over the already imported content, hits the media phase and fails).

Getting a 500 Error every time an attempt is made to edit an ACF field group. Deactivating ACF Extended Pro fixes the error.

WordPress Website crashes when PHP version update to 8.* from 7.4.33

The website was created by someone else many years ago, and I am currently working on it. The site is running on the latest versions of WordPress and MySQL. However, when attempting to upgrade the PHP version to 8.*, I encountered a 500 error.

I have already deactivated all plugins and switched to the default WordPress theme, Twenty Twenty-Four, but the error persists. Could anyone provide assistance with this issue?

And the website is hosted on Site Ground Sever.
