In my server logs I see the following entry with a 405 error:
PUT /wp-json/siteground-settings/v1/update-settings HTTP/1.1
I have checked with my hosting and they tell me that the PUT method is not enabled for security.
Is there a solution by Siteground to this issue? My hosting tells me that they could enable the PUT method only for the IP that makes the PUT.
Is it possible to know which IP performs the PUT in case of not having an alternative solution to using the PUT method?
Thank you very much.

]]>Using WP SMTP Mail v 1.3.3 on WordPress 4.9.8
]]>I see there is an update available as of yesterday. However, reading the details of the update, it does not appear that the update will fix my issues. As I said, the import is still going. Should I wait for the import to finish before updating? I don’t want to lose the content from the past 5 days of importing.
Please advise on all of the above. Thanks in advance for your prompt response.
]]>Exporting 151 XML files from WordPress.com to new host on www.remarpro.com is the real problem. Since day one, When I import with WordPress run importer, error pops out:
405 Not Allowed nginx/1.10.2
Then I try to go back and try again the uploading, and it goes around 4 or 5 times until appears this:
error the files does not exist, please try again.
Then I have to go to search again the file and try the import one more time, until: all files shows like this. Named like: “already exist”
So I try everything, I even talk with people from WordPress and they tell me the XML export file are working perfectly fine. I tried talking first with Bluehost people service and they tell me this:
Uploading XML files are not the real problem (each file are from 4.9MB to 6.1MB I’ve got 100MB to import).
The problem with Bluehost is that I’m abusing in fulling /tmp folder every time I try to import this XML
Bluehost warned and even deactivated my account because my currently account is the abuser of filling the /tmp folder and is damaging to other servers.
I try to change php.ini values
memory_limit = 300M
post_max_size = 200M
upload_max_filesize = 100M
max_execution_time = 600
also I’ve changed
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', ‘128M’)
but the issue persists.
I have read that is about clear /tmp folder but I do not know how is going, because Bluehost does not allow me to clear the tmp folder, they have to do it for me, and then they notice I’ve abused that filling up, then comes deactivation I sincerely trying to put this together, but I panicked! because they think I’m doing other thing, I don’t know, they thrilling me like hacker or something.
I try to use Filezilla to submit all my XML files but it didn’t work, or at least I know all files are into /public_html, but then….?
I’ve read that cleaning tmp/mysql_slow_queries logs will be working, but you have to clean from FileManager or from editing the code and how?
I’ve tried to use plugin like WP all import, works to import the file but I have to edit 1000 times because each XML contents so much info and does not allow me to put image (I have to pay the pro version).
So I only have 16 Xml left to import, but I am afraid of having ‘abusing’ fulling /tmp folders and deactivate the account. I’m losing my nerve, I’m losing money, unfortunately I can’t afford to pay people for help to import and set all this thing. I depend on this blog to survive.
Wordpress and Bluehost told me that XML are fine, and manageable, BH easily upload XML files into my /public_html the thing is probably is because I got internet 6.39Mbps to upload and each file is from 4.9MB to 6.1MB?
And actually until today my Bluehost is deactivated, they (once again) warned me that next time will be banned my website, –every time that folder fills up the entire server goes down for the ~2,000 customers on there– so they assumed that –find which script is using imagick files to fill or write to the /tmp folder.
Any ideas about this, please help me!
Chris

I’ve been getting HTTP errors when trying to upload images, total freezes of wordpress if i try to upload more than one image at a time. 405 timeout errors and 504 Gateway Timeout errors while doing even simple things like making a new page.
I got a notification that there was an update available for WordPress 4.5.3 so i figured, that might help fix my problems. But, whenever I try to update I get this error and I am not technologically savvy enough to have a CLUE what it means or how to fix it:
ERROR 504 – GATEWAY TIMEOUT
Why am I seeing this page?
The server that your request has reached is acting as a gateway or proxy to fulfil the request made by your client.
Web Browser => Web Front-End => Web Back-End
This server (Web Front-End) received an invalid response from an upstream (Web Back-End) server it accessed to fulfil the request.
In most cases this will not mean that the upstream server is down, but rather that the upstream server and the gateway/proxy do not agree on the protocol for exchanging data.
This problem is most commonly caused when there is a problem with IP communications between the Web Front and Back-Ends. Before you attempt to resolve this problem you should clear your browser cache completely.
Our support staff will be happy to assist you in resolving this issue. Please contact our Live Support or reply to any Tickets you may have received from our technicians for further assistance.
I am completely at a loss of what to do or how to fix it so I can get back to a normally functioning wordpress dashboard.
If you have an idea/solution… pretend I’m a 5 year old or 85 years old… i really am not savvy with the ins and outs.
Any hints or ideas on what’s going on and how to fix it?
