I have went through everything and can’t figure out how to change the header picture (the grayed out head). How do I update the picture?

What is the default font that the Writr theme uses for Header H1, H2, H3 and standard content font? I am trying to stylize my site using Live Composer but it changed my default font and I like the original font.

Hi there, since a while, part of the butttons on my main genuine side bar menu are inactive, not sending to their respective URL. PLease is there any clue to fix this? Thanks a lot in advance

I changed the color scheme away from the default turquois, however the menu bar with the hamburger icon always remained turquois. I have tried deactivating and uninstalling the them but nothing seems to work. I’ve also tried on multiple phones and tablets.

I was wondering if anyone could assist. I am having an issue with PageSpeed and rendering above-the-fold content. Only 22% of the above the fold renders with “the full HTML response”.

I have tested the page and it appears that the last thing to load on the page is the masthead with the logo/site description etc. I can’t seem to get this to load before anything else.

Can anyone tell me how I can do this? I would be really grateful if it is possible. It is having and effect on Mobile and I am keen to fix this with Google potentially now giving more weight to mobile pages.

I love this template but I have a problem with it:
I’d like to center the page, I read your forum, I found a solution:

But the mobile version is wrong: the page is too wide and the letters are too small.
How can I set the page to be centered and mobile version look like original?

I would like to create a new color scheme and using it into the customizer, with a clean way ?? I don’t want to edit css/grey.css to create a “white” or “pink” theme. I would like to add a css/white.css or css/pink.css. I did it, but into the customizer, i can’t see the news color coming to select. How to do that ?

Hi again,

I have found wrong display of special letters for Czech language in Writr. The problem is with Czech special symbols ??ěě????????Yyááííéé??úú.

It is displayed like on main webpage https://www.karelzitny.cz in “KONTAKT” widget in word “…FORMULá?.” Also this special symbols looks really ugly in headings of the posts…

Any idea how to sort out this one please?

I was able to move my sidebar to the right side of the page, but the picture and social media buttons are not showing up over the color block. Any suggestions you can give to fix this would be very much appreciated.

Sorry to cross-post, but I am having a problem creating a child theme, and it may be specific to the parent Writr theme. And Katheryn seems to be a wizard. And I’m still clueless after reading a half-dozen pages claiming a “simple” solution.

I then realized that there was a specific forum area for the Writr theme (here), found the topic “Post icons in child theme are tiny“, and tried both suggestions, separately: priority 11 and @import.
The “priority 11” gave me my original problem: css/wider.css is not being read.
I believe the @import caused the parent style.css to not be read at all.

I went back to the Codex page, followed the link to the Stack Exchange topic “Versioning @import of parent theme’s style.css“; tried Bernie’s latest post (edited Mar 23 at 17:13). Back to original problem: css/wider.css is not read.

When I created a child theme for writr and uploaded it, a small glitch appears in the menu bar. Basically, there is a space at the top of the sidebar menu as if there was an item there but there isn’t. There are also a few little gray lines poking out from behind the menu bar by the extra space. These issues were not there when I was using the parent theme, and my child theme has nothing in it that I can see causing that. Does anyone know how these issues could have arisen or how I could get rid of them?

Already followed several tutorials that you helped here in this forum. Longer be able to change the color of the sidebar and letters (creating a child theme with Jetpack plugin ) but can not change the borders and Bhutan Letter search.

To aid here is one printscren , I would like to change that part in gray:img here

I am using a child theme with writer.
The fully loaded page looks fine, but in the loading process the header expands to the full width of the page and then snaps back into position.
I did see that there is quite a bit of javascript voodoo going on in the header and sidebar.
Also my header has a manually coded logo in the header template.

I’ve created a child theme based on Writr and noticed that my post icons are tiny and centered in the top of the circle. If I revert to the original theme, the icon is centered in the circle and takes most of the space available in the circle. What might I be missing? In my child theme folder I have a style.css, rtl.css (both with “Template: writr” entries) and my functions.php file begins with `<?php

I would like to change the icon of page, to different from my own font. Font I already installed and it works in content of pages, but how can I change Writr page icons?

The icons in Writr are displayed with CSS code, using Genericons. They are linked form the classes in /css/genericons.css

I am beginner.
I know just a little about CSS coding, but once I linked Font file to html and css files.
Can somebody tell me what is the easiest way to replace this icon from Genericicons to my own font that I already install to my WP?
Is there a way to use existing code/files and just change their name of directory and file name (or something like this)?

Hi,

Using the Writr theme on a French site, I wanted to create a translation for (at least) the public texts. I notice there is already a French translation in /writr/languages/fr.mo but these strings are not “taken” by my installation.

The installation is a Multisite with multiple languages available and default language set to French. The main French translation db file is called fr_FR.mo … And sure, after renaming /writr/languages/fr.mo to /writr/languages/fr_FR.mo the strings are translated.

Is there something out of the ordinary with my installation or are the language files named incorrectly?
