Hi,
I am doing an update for a client with WPFolio, mostly ng gallery issues. I am nearly done and suddenly the submenus in the main menu bar won’t show up any more, meaning all the galleries are not accessible. What happened? I didn’t touch the menu except changing some wording and adding a new element which worked fine before.

I am working on a site for a friend. She contacted me because when she tried to make a new gallery the first image of the post wouldn’t show up…I thought maybe the issue was an incompatibility between her theme version and WordPress so I updated her theme to the most recent version.
However now when you choose a gallery the page background color is lost, and when you click on a thumbnail of an image it appears for a minute and then the page goes completely white. And the initial issue that when you create a new gallery no images are visible remains.

There seem to be no sidebars in the default page template.
Checking in the Widget area it does show a Sidebar area as well as a left,right and center footer for the widgetized areas.
These footer area work. However the main sidebar is not showing on the page.
And yes there are only two page template options: Default and Full width, neither of which shows sidebars (presumably the Full-width wouldn’t but I tried it anyhow.)
Please advise me if this is a bug in the latest version or are there some hidden steps you must do to activate?

]]>I am getting error messages stating wp-content/themes/images/arrows-ffffff.png is not found.
I believe there is a minor error in the CSS. The CSS is looking for the file in /wp-content/themes/images/arrows-ffffff.png, yet the file is in public_html/wp-content/themes/wpfolio/.

I’m trying to add a widgetized sidebar to the WPfolio Two theme. I’ve registered the sidebars using this tutorial https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-add-dynamic-widget-ready-sidebars-in-wordpress by pasting the code in the functions of my child theme.
I don’t know where I’m supposed to place this code:

I am trying to use Lightbox 2 with WP Folio theme.
The problem I have is that single or individual images added to a post or page work as expected but if I add a gallery of images Lighbox doesn’t work – the thumbnails link to their respective pages.
I have tried to ensure that each image in the gallery links to ‘media file’ but the gallery still reverts back to ‘attachment page’.
If this was my own site I could simply create a few styles within my child theme style sheet and ‘group’ single image files to display as a gallery but this will be a client run content management site so the client will need to create/modify gallery pages simply and easily using the wordpress.
How do I overwrite the [gallery] from displaying ‘attachment page’ and not ‘media file’ and Lightbox?

I’m using the latest WPFolio Two from github (0.9.49b) and would like to hide the date in the footer of the pages (where it has the title | year | category centered on the bottom). I’ve searched through the forums and found one where a user was able to hide the entire line, but I’d like to keep the line and just want to hide the year part. When I inspect the page elements, the year seems like normal text so I assume it’s being generated by php. I’ve tried going into the parent theme (wpfolio-two) and taking out the php section <?php the_time('Y') ?> on line 81 in the attachment.php file, but the year remains despite this edit. I’m pretty new at this aside from basic HTML and CSS so I don’t know if that was really the right target–I’ve turned here hoping someone with more knowhow can show me the way.

I can’t work out what I’m doing wrong – trying to upload an image header to my site. I think I’ve done it as the many posts on-line say. I’m using a child theme, from the latest version of wpfolio. I’ve put my image in the image folder of the child theme. It’s called header.png, I’ve also tried if it’s called header.jpg, though I know that shouldn’t make any difference, as long as the css file knows what to look for.
I’ve uncommented the correct bit of text in the style.css file.
Perhaps it’s the url that I’m getting wrong? I believe it have it right, from https://www.-all the way through to header.png. If i put the URL in the browser, I get the image I want.
I’ve clicked ‘update file’. What am I doing wrong?!

]]>HI– I’m having major problems understanding this.
I have images of paintings that when clicked go to their respective attachment pages, so that the viewer can navigate between images, see the info associated with the image, etc….
But the “Comments(0)” link, although visible, doesn’t work… so there’s no way for anyone to comment on the image! I’ve looked everywhere and I can’t figure this out. It seems like most people are trying to disable this feature whereas to me it is essential~ It works perfectly in Twenty Eleven but not in WPfolio 1.75 or Two.
I’ll even pay a bounty for someone to fix this- if I can’t get it working then I’ll not only have to start from scratch with modifying another theme (all my css being then useless) but have to cancel on this other artist whose WP site I’m supposed to do!

From the drop down menu, select Paintings>portraits… the number of results is limited to 9, which is the number of “Blog pages show at most” under Settings reading, but WPfolio doesn’t show the pagination for this, although WPfolio Two does— so there is no way for someone see whatever results there are past the 9th.

]]>I am setting up my site with WPFolio 1.75 but i can’t seem to center any of my images in the galleries. They are all set to “center” as Alignment within the Gallery. I have tried setting them to “right” and changing the Template to Default (I prefer the way the thumbnails look with Full Width Page), but neither of these have worked. This is what it looks like:

]]>After upgrading our installation of WP to 3.3, we’re having a strange (for me) issue with the top menu (of course we’re using WPfolio): it’s ok with all browsers except for IE (we’ve tested only with IE9), and it’s ok on IE9 except for the home page.
On the home page, the menu is appearing like this; on the other pages, it’s as it’s supposed to be.
It was ok with 3.2.1.
Any suggestion?

I am really digging the taxonomy structure in WPFolio but coming across a problem that seems to reside in the theme. I deactivated all plugins, which didn’t affect the issue, and the bug doesn’t reproduce when I tested in 2011 theme.
When I show, for example, ‘posts tagged with Editor’ there are issues, regardless of whether I have set the page to show 5 or 10 posts.
1. It won’t show all 15 posts tagged with ‘Editor’
2. prev and next don’t show the logical next or previous posts archive-wise
3. ‘posts tagged with Producer’ shows a post tagged only with ‘Editor’ after clicking ‘next’.
4. after clicking next or previous, it will display an entire post rather than the thumbnail or list.
I found a potentially related issue on the WP forum having to do with prev/next (“blog links are backwards”) and was able to implement notlaura’s code fix for category.php, and I also changed this for archive.php. I looked at this original poster, Scott Parson’s blog, and I believe his blog is reproducing the problem detailed above.
Can you point me in the right direction for a potential fix, or create a ticket for it? Other than this, WPFolio has been a great experience, thanks so much!

i am using a child theme successfully to modify style.css BUT
because i am both an artist and an academic, i’m trying to have one page for a CV that presents my academic CV and a second page that presents my exhibition history. For clarity i would like to call one CV and the other exhibitions. philosophical questions about whether this is even a smart idea aside…
naming a page exhibitions does not allow me to apply the resume style, so –
I looked at the page.php file in the parent theme and saw a line that defined the pages that would load the resume.css – the pages are in an array: ‘RESUME’, ‘resume’, ‘CV’, ‘cv’
i would love to just add ‘exhibition’,’EXHIBITION’ to this array, but I would like to do it through the child theme to not mess with the parent.
I looked through the codex and the wpfolio documentation and have a suspicion that i understand, but can i use @import with a file in the child theme called page.php and use that to override the page.php in the parent? Should i be trying to do this through the functions.php file?
i’m not invested in one method or another, in an ideal world i’d love if someone just said… oh, there’s a drop-down menu in word-press that lets you apply the resume style to any page.
any thoughts would be welcomed.

Using child theme of wpfolio, galleries are on static pages, comments on the “host” page are disabled.
Is it possible to have them enabled for the single images?

I have some text links that are behaving differently between Safari & Firefox, here:

In Firefox the colour changes on rollover. In Safari it’s steady as the darker colour, no change on rollover. Not really a big deal, just curious about the difference.
But what is more frustrating is that 3 of the 17 links in Firefox are shown constantly in the darker (rollover) colour – they just stand out on their own.
The code looks the same to me and it doesn’t happen in Safari.
Any ideas?

Just updated and the new wpfolio is great!!! – but as i have things nested under other pages, i would prefer to not have the dropdown menus – i have tried to set up a new menu for the “top navigation bar” without submenus, but all the the nested pages still keep appearing – is there a way out of this?
also – how do i get rid of the grey lines around the images – i love Julia’s page https://juliaschwadron.com/2011/gallery/ – i dont see the grey lines…i set the border at 0 already…?

As I resize the window it moves off the image nut I can’t get my laptop window large enough to clear it. Shouldn’t that be always clear of the header? I thiught it used to be, maybe I did something.
