Hi, it seems I have problem with displaying polish characters in this theme. Do I miss something? For now I had to change font-family, but here’s how it looks without my changes:

Can anyone help me with changing the color of the “Submit” button on the bottom of my Contact Me/Get In Touch page? I can’t seem to figure out how to do it.

Normal text is “black” on a “white” background. Hyperlinks are “white” on a “white” backgroud : unreadable ……

I like Wilson. very chique /chic. But a little bit to dark for a chessclub. The dark background dominates. I am thinking about options to lighten the atmosphere of the site. An option is to have a lighter colored sidebar …..

A nice theme, but the text “Recent posts” is not readable. The red “post” titles I like to make white. I have no menu, but there is a black colored menu block, how to eliminate this, or make it the same color as the background ?

another tiny bug.

In footer.php <main> gets closed after the wrapper div:

</div><!– .wrapper –>
</main><!– #site-content –>

However, it should be the other way around:

</main><!– #site-content –>
</div><!– .wrapper –>

Otherwise, this will result in a loose end an an unclosed element main.

I’m using the Wilson Theme for a project and stumbled across a tiny bug. Only for information.

The metadata is not parameterized correctly in the header of the Wilson Theme.
HTML validator shows an error here.

Is:
<meta http-equiv=”content-type” content=”<?php bloginfo( ‘html_type’ ); ?>” charset=”<?php bloginfo( ‘charset’ ); ?>” />

Should:
<meta http-equiv=”content-type” content=”<?php bloginfo( ‘html_type’ ); ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo( ‘charset’ ); ?>” />

I am actually using the “Wilson” theme by Anders Borén on my www.remarpro.com-blog.
I was able to use the “read more” tag (which is supposed to be a core feature of WP) to get a link after my snippet, directing the reader to the full post.
It just worked fine until recently – but for some reason inexplicable to me – the “read more” tag seems suddenly unavailable. I didn’t change any settings. To be more specific it is not possible to add a read more option, by clicking on the inserter icon, of which the read more option is showing up faintly visible (inactive). I hope someone can help me out here, thanks!

Here’s my problem with Wilson:

the title of the post is below the post image, the image has slightly rounded corners, and the image has the sticky flag.
But when I use Wilson on my website (no child theme), the title and other information are on top of the image, no rounded corners and not sticky flag.

I made a website, LinuC.

I use the sidebar as a guide, which can be done top down. That’s why I hide the main menu at the top of the sidebar. Everything else in the sidebar are widgets, text (Version 1.0), language switcher, search and navigation widgets with individual menus.

Unfortunately, the sidebar is not displayed for smartphones. Now I want to change Wilson so that instead of the menu, the sidebare is displayed on smartphones as a dropdown.

Is that possible? If so, how do I do that?

Hello – I have been using Wilson for the above site since 2014. It’s a great theme. My current version is 1.36. I have a child theme activated, with a lot of css style customizations and I also have some CSS in the customization area in the dashboard. When I update the theme to 2.0 on a local version of the site, the site breaks completely and is unrecognizable. Also, there is an error on the homepage that says ‘There has been a critical error on this website. Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.’ The plugins I am using are gravity forms, really simple ssl, wp total cache, email log, all in one SEO, classic editor and updraft plus, and these are plugins that I use on a regular basis on many sites. Do you know of any conflicts with any of these plugins and your theme? By the way, I tried updating the theme with all of the plugins disabled. Either way, the site breaks and seems to be beyond repair.

Do you have any advice on how I can update the theme without major issues? Thank you.

I think it is a leftover from the development, or ? I cannot see any other function…

Today I got a major version update but unfortunately I didn’t found any changelog or so on the developer website and on www.remarpro.com.

Can someone point me the changelog? It’s probably in front of my eyes, but still I can’t find it.

I hope the title says it all: .widget_nav_menu a and .widget_nav_menu a:hover are missing from the inline Accent Color CSS.

The links have the default color.

Are you still updating/fixing this theme?

I just installed this theme and I love it. One thing though is that I can’t limit the posts on the homepage so the Continue Reading button appears. For me the whole posts appear. How can I change this? Thank you.

I am getting the following error in the stylesheet:

My site (on WordPress.com) uses the Wilson theme and I’m thinking of adding bbPress. I’m hoping to see a site using Wilson and bbPress before I upgrade my account and dive in to the install etc.

I’d like to remove the border of the image in the widget area. I could do it by adding the following line to Wilson theme originated from WordPress.com, but it did not work on the version available on www.remarpro.com.

.widget-area .widget img { border: none; }

I would like to translate “Leave a comment” text, but I cannot find it anywhere in the translation files. This text appears under the title of every post.

Another text I cannot find is “Search“, which appears as a placeholder in the textbox of the search widget.

Where can I find them, please?

I don’t know if this question is related directly to the Wilson theme, but that’s the one I’m using. I imported a bunch of older posts from a different blog hosted using WordPress. As far as I can remember, comments were open on these posts. At any rate, at the bottom of posts, there’s a message that says “Comments are closed.” Even after selecting “Allow comments” for a post and updating the post, the message is still there. Any help would be appreciated.

I love this theme and have spent hours trying – and failing – to find another one similar because I am unable to hide my sub-menus. The nature of my site (mainly text) means I intend to have many sub-menus and so it would quickly look messy.

Is there any way to get this theme to hide the sub-menus until mouseover? Or is there a compatible plugin that will do the same without destroying the look of this theme?

For the last few years, Wilson has broken pages for tags and categories (the pages are blank, empty pages). There is a fix detailed in this thread that correctly explains a fix.

Since I noticed 1.27 was recently pushed, it would be nice to see this fixed in upstream code. I upgraded to 1.27, but had to revert the custom change back in the archive.php file.

Hi I am using Wilson wordpress theme. I was using Elementor on it just fine, but now when I try to create a new page I get the following error message : Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call the_content function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.

BuddyPress’ Members page can’t be rendered on Wilson 1.27.

Workaround:

Copy Wilson 1.27’s page.php into your Wilson child theme, comment out:

if ( get_the_content() ) :

and the endif; that is closing the conditional block above.

Where are you supposed to select the Archives Template when creating a archive page. There is no menu for selecting this function.

Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context in /var/www/web56/html/wp-content/themes/wilson/archive.php on line 36

Problem seems to be the empty-Function wrapped around the tag_description(). If i remove the empty, everything works perfectly again.

I’m using the Wilson theme.

I was attempting to change some code to place advertisements in a particular place which didn’t work so I restored the original php index file.

Everything went back to normal except that some text widgets and all new text widgets are centered rather than flush left.

Also the date line under the headline is centered rather than flush left.

The website is bulldogcanadian.com.

Anybody have a solution for this? Thank you for this in advance.

I got this error:

It was introduced on line 36 in archive.php

Fixed it by replacing:

with

  if ( ! empty( $m_tag_description ) ) {

Today I updated the Wilson theme from ver. 1.24 to ver. 1.26. My site now serves up blank pages when I click on any category or tag (I don’t know how long it has been doing that).

I deactivated all plugins to see if they might be the culprit, but the problem persisted. I then loaded the “Twenty Sixteen” theme and all my category and tag pages loaded properly.

I don’t know for sure that the new Wilson update is the problem, but I don’t know what else to try.
