Dear Verbosa,
After the theme update the CSS layout got broken: the menu (in my case on the left side) is overlapped by the main page.
Scrolling or resizing the page has also a broken behavior.
It seems the problem displays on all the pages of the site.
Best
]]>Dear all,
I have a problem with my homepage.
Since a few weeks the Menu (leftside) is overlapped by the mainpage, so I cant choose the menu-buttons.
If I scroll through the homepage it changes, I can see the menu, but not the mainpage.
It seems the problem displays only at landing/start-page.
Any help for me?
WP-Version: 5.9
Browser: Safari and Chrome

Hi, How can I get Verbosa nicely displayed on cellphone please? It’s very nice and clean on pc, but a hussle on gsm.
Thx in advance!
I use a layout with post excerpts stacked in a single column on the left, and a narrower column for the sidebar on the right (sidebar set to 450px, total width 1440 px). It shows fine on a PC laptop (tested on three Win 10 devices) with two columns as designed.
Verbosa only shows one column on the iPad (tested in Chrome, Edge and Safari). This shows the site header, followed by sidebar widgets then the post excerpts. That should be header/excerpts/widgets.
My previous theme was a similar layout (Twenty Seventeen) and it worked fine on the iPad with both columns showing. How can I change this theme so it works properly, too? And how can I change the display order to the proper header/excerpts/widgets for mobile devices?
]]>when I access the home page of my site (maffulli.net) from mobile, the navigation bar is shown before the content. I’d like it to go after the first set of blog posts.
Is it possible to achieve this? how?
]]>Since the update to the latest theme version there are errors in the menu.
1. the arrow for the display of submenus is no longer displayed.
2. the menu as a whole no longer works on mobile devices.
I can’t figure out where to go to update the copyright date to 2021. I obviously added the current text when I set up the blog, but don’t remember what I did. Thanks in advance!
]]>I am at a loss to describe my problem: it isn’t Gutenberg-related, strictly speaking, but here goes.
I wrote a new post 11/11, and my Write New Post page looked as it has since Gutenberg was introduced; I added and formatted headers, titled it, and posted. (Typical page: https://artforartssakepress.com/2020/11/06/a-prayer-for-all-souls/)
On Sunday, I reviewed a comment, and the edit post page looked the same.
Tonight, I went to add a new post and the Write Post page looked completely different: the title no longer centered in black at top of screen but green and ranged left; the header color options were only grey, black and green instead of the usual blues and greens my site uses. Not even the block choices looked familiar.

That link is to the screenshot I took of the Write New Post page — of course, I don’t have a shot of what it looked like a week ago, but the title block was black and centered, and the draft text was inset on the page, not jammed to the left edge. This problem affects drafting posts; nothing appears to be changed on the website.
Is this a theme problem? If so, why all of a sudden? I am using Verbosa and the most recent WP Theme is Twenty Twenty; the WP screen says WordPress 5.5.3.
I’ve used WP a long time, but hate getting surprised by changes to the interface, if that’s all this is. User error entirely possible, but what do I do to get it back to earlier view while editing?
]]>Hi,
I keep stumbling upon the same problem ever since I started using Verbosa: whatever I try to customize (Header image and Logo, translating labels into French) is well displayed while in the customization window but the home page does not take into account these changes.
I checked what could go wrong (deactivating/activating plugins, for instance) but nothing changed.
Can anyone help?
Cheers
In the Verbosa theme, there are 6 styles for images in the post (in Customize > Appearance > General > Post Images). But when I try each of them, nothing changes. Same for the Captions style. Wondering why these aren’t working?
I have added no additional CSS to the theme.
]]>Hello,
I love the theme, but I was wondering if there is some code I could add that would allow me to show just one type of post on the front page. For instance, can I show only posts with the category/tag “blog” and in subsequent pages show only those with the category: “recipes” or category “photos”? Thanks for your help!

]]>Hello! I’m having a trouble with catergory links in my footer texts. I don’t want to have title attributes visible on mouse hover because the title text consists of a paragraph and not just a few words. The result does not look good. Of course the problem only concerns the desktop.
Can you help me and tell how to prevent the whole text popping up when you hover over the category link in footer?
Hello, I am new to worldpress.com and struggling a little with the setup for a free account. I would like to activate the Verbosa theme (with it looking exactly as it appears in the demo), but cannot find the theme inthe directory (I’ve done all kind of searches and filters, but it’s not there).
I’d be so grateful if someone would help me setup my blog please – that is, set it up for me, and I can then log in. My heart is set on the Verbosa theme for my writer blog. Many thanks in advance to the kind soul(s) who’ll be willing to help me with this.
]]>Hello, I’m new at WordPress, and struggling to find the Verbosa theme amongst the free themes. I have tried a search with ‘blog’, ‘writer’ and ‘author’ but it does not show up. Would appreciate some help where/ how to locate the theme, it sounds a really cool one for writers! Thanks.
]]>I need to add a caption to this featured image attributing the source.
I’m using the “Featured Image Caption” plugin.
I’ve entered text into the caption and source attribution fields in the post editing page, and also added a caption in the media library, but I can’t get a caption to display.
Please help.

I really like Verbosa, but I haven’t been able to update the theme past version 1.0.0. Every time I do, it destroys my homepage layout. I have my homepage set to show three columns of posts. When I update Verbosa, however, it automatically forces my homepage into a single column of posts, even when the theme’s options are set to show three columns. Periodically I try updating the theme again in hopes that it’s been fixed, but every time I have to roll it back.
Now with the release of Gutenberg overcomplicating everything and making images impossible to center, I can’t help but wonder if maybe some of my Gutenberg problems would be solved by having an up-to-date theme. Unfortunately, updating my theme still ruins my homepage, so I continue to remain on Verbosa 1.0.0.
When will this bug be fixed?
]]>I like this theme, but would like to have more post excerpts visible on the front page because my sidebar contents extend much further past the end of the posts. That leaves nothing but empty whitespace for a very large area below the last row of excerpts.
How can I do this?
Many thanks

In the Verbosa theme, is it possible to add a text above the comment field? I would like to add a note about the EU General Data Protection Regulation that people see above the comment field.
]]>I recently started adding social icons to my blog. However, I soon discovered that the title tag looks like this – title="<span>Facebook</span>"
. I hope you can see what is wrong here – those span tags have no business being inside an element.
Ok… I have looked at almost all of the documentation I can find. Is there anyway to adjust the height of the posts in the magazine layout so they are consistent? I have spaces of white (yuck) that I would like to have filled with a post…

]]>I am on the latest WordPress and Verbosa and noticed that the theme applies serif fonts to the post/page editor. Hi there,
I’d like to prevent Verbosa from using Google Fonts and make sure it uses fonts I’ve installed on my server.
I would like to do that in a child theme, with the fonts (let’s say Merriweather) uploaded in a /fonts folder.
I’ve checked to source code of the theme but I can’t find a way to dequeue Google fonts and make the child theme use the local font everywhere.
Any help please ? ??
Cheers
]]>When viewing this site in a narrow window (e.g., on a mobile device), the entire sidebar (widgets and all, not just the menu) appear before the content. So users have to scroll for awhile before they can get to a post.
It wasn’t this way before — but then a wordpress reinstall took the menu down. After putting the widgets back, this sidebar issued manifested.
]]>Hello! We currently host an internal company blog for our organization (not associated with this username.)
We decided it was time to change themes and chose Verbosa. However, the theme does not render properly at all when using Internet Explorer. It looks correct on Chrome, Firefox, etc. just not IE.
Is this a common problem? Is there a fix for this? Perhaps a piece of code, etc. that I can relay back to our developers.
Thank you!
Megan
Any way to place a menu horizontally, right after the static image?
Via a specific widget, plugin or code line?
Thanks
How do I manipulate the HTML/PHP for Featured Image from my child theme? I can find this line
<img class="post-featured-image" alt="" itemprop="url" src="https://www.website.com/path/to/image.jpg">
in the source through the browser, but cant find it in the theme folder. I guess it is hidden in the database?
How do I remove “Powered by Verbosa & WordPress.” ?
I have been looking in both theme customise options, widgets and template files. Is it perhaps on purpose hidden in the database?
