I am running a child theme of Unite. When I update to v.2.0.8 from v.2.0.2 everything completely falls apart. It is a live site so I had to revert to the older version of the theme, but before I quickly reverted I did see an error message that said something about wp_bootstrap_navwalker not found. I have several custom templates in my child theme (including header.php). Your list of changes in the readme file is very vague- “fixed some prefixing, fixed some escaping, etc…) Do you have a more specific changelog that might list the prefixes that you did change and what specific template files were changed? I used Unite as a parent for a few sites that I customized and it would be greatly appreciated if you had more info that might help me track down all of the problems the update will cause.

Despite the CSS you have given me about two years ago, the font color change is no longer working, more the color change for headers.

Here is the CSS you’ve given me, but it doesn’t work. I have to manually go in and change the font color. And the headers are no longer purple. Perhaps something is conflicting.

I have five photos in the home page slideshow of a Unite theme. When I try to add a sixth photo, I get the following error message: Warning: Illegal string offset ‘children’ in /home/hnwftp/public_html/wp-content/themes/parallelus-unite/theme_admin/includes/options_pages/slideshow-options.php on line 295.

Am I getting this message because I can only have five photos in the slide show? Or is there another reason? Thank you.

My hosting company informs me that there is an issue upgrading my account to use the lates version of PHP. Are there any plans of updating the theme to deal with this? I see there hasn’t been an update in over a year, so I’ll be looking into replacing this theme if it’s no longer being maintained. Thanks!

I just set up unite theme on my WordPress and I’m having style sheets problems.
I actually cannot edit anything in style.css?
I tried to delete the margins of the logo (.site-branding), because when you upload your header image margin top and margin bottom appear visible.

However I edit it, nothing changes on the site and in browser there is still the old css styles when I inspect the element.

I tried any other style edit and same thing happens.

Does the theme not provide you to edit .css files?

How to reduce space between links in submenu (expandable second level)? Thanks!

The Unite menu works very well, however I would like to find out how to make a primary menu item act as a link to a page and not only as an activator to display sub menu items. The way it works now if I create a main menu item like Home with sub-items, if I click on (or hover over) Home it activates sub-items such as About, but you can’t use it to return to the Home page. The current workaround is to add a sub-item under Home called Home which is the link to Home.

I am using the Unite theme. The homepage is not responsive–all the data is cut off and skewed to the left. All other pages are also skewed but not as pronounced.

I’ve gote a problem with this theme : when it’s installed, I when I try to use the plugin mailpoet, I’ve got a problem, my page “extension” disappears (I’ve got a white page), and it’s the same thing with mailpoet. I don’t have this problem with another template…

I’m a competent responsive front end developer but am new to WordPress. I’m using the Unite theme successfully to build a shop and so far, am very impressed generally with the features.

I’d like to customise my home page but am not finding it straightforward to achieve what I want. I already have my carousel working successfully at the top of the shop (underneath the menu bar), but I would now like to add 2 rows underneath it, each split into 4 columns. I’ve added the Easy Bootstrap Shortcodes plug in, but can not see a way of adding these additional 2 rows of 4 columns to the home page.

I’m more than happy to hardcode a template. I’m thinking if I duplicate the index.php and give it a template name, I could add the following code in order to achieve what I want – however, I’m unsure how to turn this into a usable template:

Using wordpress 4.5.2 and Unite Version 2.0.2, I cannot have sub menus anymore.

For example, if i was to click about, it used to display 3 menu items underneath. Now, it does noting and no sub menu is shown at all!

First to the theme author: Thank you for a great theme.

My challenge with the theme is that the translation works only partially: https://mobil-im-tal.de/zur-mitfahr-app/ For example the popular-post widget title is translated, but not the headers “Popular” and “Recent”. Also the “Search” is not translated.

How can I fix this?

First of all thank you for a nice template with a lot customization options.

I’ve got a problem, coz I’m not able to change alingment of header image. Image is still on the left.

PS. Currently I applied a temporary solution which works.
I’ve added custom CSS from one of the topics here:

width: 100%;
}
#logo img {
max-width: 100%;
height: auto;
}

And then I uploaded a png image with the width of my carousel as a header image. (about 1140px I guess). This works so far but is there any custom css code or any way to solve this problem straight way?

I can’t read the nav items when I hover over them in my menu in Unite theme. The white items turn to black and, with the dark purple background, they can’t be read. I would like them to stay white in colour when hovering over them and then to turn black or dark once clicked as they background menu colour lightens and again the items can’t be read.

I’d like to change the font on the entire site…

Well, I have tryed this:

In the style.css I have changed all the
font-family: fontawesome;
to
font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif;
– and placed the
<link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Oswald' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
– inside the head-section of the header.php

But it still shows the weird “fontawesome” ??
