Homepage settings don’t show static page

I have the Tech Literacy theme installed on a site I’m building (not public yet), and have the homepage settings set to display an existing static page for the homepage. It doesn’t show any of the content from the page selected to display as the homepage. It just shows a humongous search bar and a link to the one default post that comes with WordPress out of the box.

What can I do to make the theme actually display the content of the selected static page?

Hi,

Not sure if you could help, but my top menu, on the 3rd tier (services -> Web hosting -> the menu below go to the left. Is it possible to change to go to the right?

How would i do it?
