I’m working on a child theme or Sundance and I am trying to center the menu.
I haven’t been abe to find the correct CSS refrences to call it on styles.css.

I’m using Sundance theme and I’d like to make my tagline appear all on one line. Right now it’s wrapping and I seem to have no control over that happening.

I’m also having trouble getting an old nav bar menu to go away even though I have deleted all the content. It still says “Home” no matter what I do.

Hi, I can’t get to the customize options at all. I get an “internal error message” every time. Just noticed I also can’t always get to the Plugins page either – couldn’t check just now on what my version of Sundance is that is installed. So, there may be other pages I can’t get to as well. What to do? Thanks!

I just noticed the mobile version of my site presents as slightly different. The font of the header is different and the color of the navigation links. Any ideas why ?

I have opted to include links (icons) to fb and twitter at the bottom of my posts. They show up on ye posts individual page but not on the posts listed on the home page.any help on how to change ? Beamoonbaby.com

Hi I have added some social media icons in the sidebar. I can’t remember how I did this can someone please tell me the steps ? Also wondering if it’s possible to change the color or style of these icons. And maybe to add a mail icon ? Thanks

Started up on Sundance theme, installed a bunch of plugins (im new to wordpress) … I can update the colour font style of the Sites’s Title, this is called “header 1” – this automatically corresponds to the POST title’s, also called “header 1”. On The mobile version the menu title also appears the same. I want to be able to use different styles for site header, post header and menu. There is listed a bunch of options “header 2” “header 3” etc but I don’t know how to change the post title to “header 2.” HELP! please. Im in the dark.

I’ve successfully set up my header and background image in the Sundance theme, but for the life of me cannot figure out how to change that awful lavender page color. Can someone please help? I’m going nuts!

Is there a setting somewhere that will allow us to have blog post TEASERS on the ‘blog’ archive page, instead of the whole blog post?

So, for example, it would show the first couple of sentences, then it would have a “read more” link.

Not sure if this is a built-in option or not…?

Also, I’m not seeing the option for a featured image.

Hi all,

I’ve tried to change the theme options – to different social media choices, by creating a child theme page of the theme options.

In wordpress it’s still showing the original social media options(i.e- google+ and flickr) but I need it to have pinterest and instagram instead. Does something else need to change in the actual wordpress settings, besides making a child theme of the theme options? Or did I not create the child theme page correctly? Not sure why it’s not working.

In addition, I would like these to open in a new page, which I didn’t have much luck with, when I entered the target="blank" any suggestions on this as well?

I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I activated the facebook ‘like’ with the plugin ‘Ik facebook plugin’. the set up directions instructed me to get a developers ID and code. . . but I could only get that through my MAIN facebook page, and not the fb page I want linked, so even the ‘like’ does not work at all.

I read in the support forum regarding content width in the function.php file. I looked in it, tried what they suggested and then deleted it (it didn’t do what they said). But now the site is BLANK! and in my FTP folder, the wp-content folder is blank too!

I’m going to try and upload a new copy of the theme to the wp-content folder, but please advise ??

When I use full width page as a default page template, all social buttons are disappeared. Is it possible to place buttons somewhere on page? For default page template buttons are on its place.

BTW, is it possible to make post page full width also? I select “full width” template for this page but it still just a blog page.

Hello, thanks for a great theme! I have a bunch of YouTube videos displayed in the slider and if I resize the browser window, the currently displayed video resizes fine, growing and shrinking as i resize the window.

However, if I _then_ use the slider controls to navigate to the next videos, they all show up as tiny thumbnails, until I get back to the first video (the one that was visible when I resized). With one of the thumbnail-sized videos displayed, if I _then_ resize the browser window again, the video snaps to the correct size. But _then_ if I navigate to another video, I’m back to tiny thumbnails.

Thought it might have been just my installation, but the same thing occurs if I visit the Sundance test site and perform the above resizing ritual: https://sundancedemo.wordpress.com/ It doesn’t seem to be peculiar to YouTube videos, as there’s a variety of different source vids in the Sundance demo.

Have tried this in various browsers and on mobile, and the behaviour is the same. In fact there are additional problems in Safari – for example, when the page first loads, the slider is displaying the first ‘sticky’ video but then the next featured video that should be in the slider appears below it, and stays floating there even if you scroll the page.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction because this theme ticks a lot of other boxes for me! Thanks

When adding video posts to the Carousel the video description text gets duplicated. It appears on the right pane as it should, and again below the video.
How can I fix this?

I have been trying to resolve social sharing issues on the Sundance theme for three days. As I could not get the social sharing that came with Sundance to work, I tried loading plugins. Now I have two facebook icons. One links to facebook (but I hate the ugly icon with no text). One has an incorrect link, but I can not find access to it anywhere to correct or delete it. WHERE is it? Ideally I would like to delete these two buttons and be able to use the Sundance theme social sharing options as I might add other social sharing. I posted on an old thread and they said to start a new thread in order to get help. I finally figured out how to start a new thread. Please help. face-to-faceeducation.com

On my new site, davidallan.me, I’m employing Sundance and the header looks great on my iphone due to its responsive nature but on my laptop thew tagline is way off to the right….

How can this be fixed?

1st time WordPress user, trying to using the Sundance theme to host videos for projects I’ve worked on. When I upload video to the site to use in posts, the video automatically starts. I’m trying to use iFrame to post, but even without it installed, my video autoplays, making it difficult to set up an archive page to house multiple videos. Is this a theme feature that can be turned off, or is it a WordPress issue?

I’d like my navigation bar to look like this: https://www.rollingstones.com/. I’d like to:
1. Move it to the top
2. Have a translucent background that stretches the entire screen and
3. Center the links within it.

I’ve looked all over the forums, and I have basic CSS, but virtually no php knowledge, so am finding it difficult to piece together how this might work? I’m working on my site locally right now, but I am using the sundance-child theme. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I installed the Sundance theme, but I increased the header width to 1150px and the sidebar width to 250px. These changes worked just fine.

However I cannot get the main column to cooperate. I want it to be 800 px wide and be lined up with the left side of the header. There is some sort of white padding on the left side of the column that won’t allow this, though – they made space for the gravatar to show up there, but I have turned it off.

Right now, if I increase the width of the main column, it simply overlaps the right sidebar. So I would like to know how to move the whole column over to the left (while leaving everything else the same).

I received notice for using deprecated function add_custom_background() in function.php and add_custom_image_header() in custom-header.php

To fix the issue, please replace
add_custom_background() with add_theme_support( ‘custom-background’)
and
add_custom_image_header( ‘sundance_header_style’, ‘sundance_admin_header_style’, ‘sundance_admin_header_image’ );
with
add_theme_support( ‘custom-header’, array(‘sundance_header_style’, ‘sundance_admin_header_style’, ‘sundance_admin_header_image’));

2. I created the columns for my footer. How can I clean it up so they are centered on the far left and far right, and also so that the content in there is in each specific column instead of just running. Should I instead do this as col 1 col 2 col 3? Right now I copied some other code:

4. I need to add a form to sign up for a newsletter. Any suggestions to an easy way to get that?

I’ve installed and activated the official FB plugin, which is supposed to allow Like, Send, and Follow buttons on pages and posts. I’ve checked all the boxes but the buttons do not appear.
Already googled, searched FB developers and support forums and wp.org forums and no one else seems to have the issue.
It seems pretty simple, install, activate, check some boxes and it should work, but doesn’t. Any ideas?

Hi, this is my first post ever, so bear with me here.

I’ve learned html and css although it’s been a little while since I’ve done any coding. I have been asked by a client to create a blog and I suggested wordpress because I knew I needed to learn it. Anyways, maybe not the best idea without practicing first, but I did it and now I’m feeling a bit stuck. I have made all of the customization to this with a child theme and it is www.remarpro.com.

1. Moving the Sidebar Widgets next to the Slider
I currently have her blog up on my site for now at:

I have it pretty much looking the way I want, but in order to get the sidebar next to the slider I made it absolute positioning which totally threw off the responsiveness of the theme. In order to fix this for mobile viewing I overrided the media settings in the css.

2: Fixing the Responsiveness and Other Layout Issues
Still, the border and background image (white) is all messed up when viewing on mobile sites as well as when I go to one of the categories which I don’t have content to yet and it shows nothing found, then I do a search and it throws off the border/background: https://www.bethparrattdesign.com/?s=listings&submit=Search

3. Other Tweaks Include the Spacing Top/Bottom of the Widget Categories
How can I change the spacing top and bottom between the social media icons which are built into the theme but still connect to the sidebar, and the text widget I used to add the navigation flag buttons?

I’ve searched for hours, days, weeks, and just feel stuck!

I just want to make sure I have this working right before I get it all finalized for her.
