ISSUE 1:
Upon installing the SNAPS THEME on MoodeeCactusRecords.com, I wanted to create the Portfolio they have on their DEMO PAGE on my Homepage. Their instructions say to
1. Create a new page.
2. Assign the Portfolio Page Template from the Page Attributes section.
3. Go to Customizer > Static Front Page and choose the new page as my site’s static Front Page.

But in #2, in my new page and going to Page Attributes, there is only a dropdown box that has options for: “Parent Page:” and selections only for: Sample Page, Welcome!, Shop, Contact, Blog, etc. and a section that says “Order”.

There is no option to assign the Portfolio Page Template.

Next, upon googling for tireless hours I only found a few things to try.

I had my (published) homepage static, then not static. That did not help. I saw in one forum the SNAPS THEME Demo page is set as static homepage; so I changed it back to static.

ISSUE 2:
I do not see a “Template Options” tab on the left panel of my Dashboard (as I read in one forum). The Appearance section gives me no option for assistance in the missing “Portfolio Page Template”.

ISSUE 3:
In trying to follow steps from this post:

It says:
“Activating a Portfolio and Setting Portfolio Projects Per Page
If your theme doesn’t have the Portfolio feature active by default, you can turn it on by going to My Sites → Manage → Settings → Writing → Content Types and turning on the “Portfolio Projects” option.”

But my dashboard under Settings > Writing there is no “Content Types”. There is a Default Post Format that includes “Standard, Aside, Chat, Gallery, Link, Image, Quote, Status, Video, Audio. There is nothing on this page to turn on “Portfolio Projects”.

(Please excuse the mess as I am just setting the pages up without actual content.)

Hi guys I need to move the primary menu above the header image? I can make it, but the header image it size is to the primary menu and not to the full width, hope you can help me.

I’m having a hard time to fix this problem. The image grid is a mess. I’ve tried different solutions mentioned here, like the one that recommends changing the setting “Blog pages show at most” to a multiple of 4, and no one worked.

One thing to point out is that in Internet Explorer it works perfectly. The problem is when viewed through Chrome.

I’ve carefully read the read me TXT that says:

“In your Menus panel on your dashboard, click on the arrow for each menu item to open the details box. You should see an option for *CSS Classes*. If you do not see this option, click the *Screen Options* link at the top of the page and make sure *CSS Classes* is checked in the menu that opens up. To specify which icon will display, enter the corresponding class name in the CSS Classes box. Please note that these class names are case sensitive. The corresponding class names are: facebook, twitter, vimeo, feed, pinterest, google-plus, wordpress.”

This does not work. I have done exactly as it says. Please help

I added some links to the top menu of my website, but they don’t fit all in one line and, therefore, I have two lines of menu with links.

Is there a way to fit them all in only one line? Maybe making the letters smaller or by reducing the space between them.

I am using snaps theme and was wondering how I can add social media links and other such small print to the colophon footer.
I have searched through the forums and there appears to be little explanation as to what colophon is or how best to manage it.

Any helpful insights are most welcome.

I’m using the “Snap” theme to create a website and I’m finding that my blog posts are not showing up on the blog page as expected. I used the theme customizer to specify my “News” page as the page I wanted for my blog posts.

Currently only feature images OR black boxes show up on this page — with no text. See https://www.cynthiadan.caroltompkinsdesign.com/news/. If you click on the images/black boxes, you do get the blog post but I’d rather have a normal looking/functioning blog page. This may be a more general pout regards design and css but I am trying to have all the widgets showing on the page as the same height no matter what the content. i.e. the box defines the size of the content and not eh other way about. I am sure that there is a line of code I should be adding. I have tried max min height etc with mixed results.
The widgets are contained within a row using the site origin page builder.

Just interested to know if anyone has an insight or recommendation at all.

I realy like the snaps theme, it has almost everything i am looking for.
I say almost because there is 1 thing i can not seem to figure out

When you go to the blog you see rectangulars with the canvas.png background provided in the template, but only when you go mouse over those the blog titles apear.

I would like it so that the blogtitle is always visible.

Any idea how to change this?

I am very new at WordPress and SNAPS. I am using the SNAPS theme and have set it up to display paintings, my wife has done, in a gallery. Is there a way I can have each of the thumbnails display an enlarged view of the painting when a visitor clicks the thumbnail?

How can I remove the footer widget? The bottom-most section where there is the “share this” plus the social media icons underneath it and the “nothing found” plus the search box underneath?

This is my last resort on finding any help with this template, before I abandon it.
I need to set up a portfolio home page, and the following list describes, the “simple” tasks that I need to do:

1. Create a new page to serve as the homepage
2. Assign the Portfolio Page Template from the Page Options section
3. Publish your page
4. Go to Customizer→ Static Front Page, and choose the new page as your site’s static “Front page”

The problem is that

does not exist!

There is no dropdown for a custom template for the pages. nothing.
What may be wrong here?

I recently moved my friend’s wordpress.com site to a custom domain. One thing that changed was that now the posts page (the front page) shows a grid of featured images for the recent posts instead of the entire posts themselves, which is how it works on his wordpress.com site. I would like to keep things the same – does anyone know where to find the setting to show the full posts? I already have For each article in a feed, show full text…

as in the topic title, even if I have enabled the social share buttons, for some reason they do not show up on the page that I have chosen to be the portfolio page template. On that page I have also checked the option to enable those… Am I missing something?

i have a problem with the layout of the Blog page. On my website the Blog Page obviously has the layout of the Portfolio page, but when you look at the “Live-Demo” of this theme you see the latest articles one under another.

I’m using v.1.0.3 of snaps, and I have noticed that this theme as also able to use social media icons on the nav bar (Primary menu) such as shown on their demo page: https://graphpaperpress.com/demo/?project=Snaps

I’ve of course enabled CSS Classes in the screen options, and it works perfectly for the Social Menu (I’ve tried and the icon shows up).

Has anyone solved this issue yet?

I want it to be = Oonagh Dawson – Artist.
It currently shows as = oonagh dawson – artist.

I can’t seem to find any html tags that will help me do this.

I’m hoping someone can help me. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to put my portfolio website together without much progress. I’ve never used wordpress before and I”m finding it really confusing.

When I look at the live demo, text appears when you put the cursor over the image. This isn’t happening on my site. Btw I don’t want to use any of the blog/post features – could this be the problem?

I only want the page names to appear on the menu bar at the top, but the names are also appearing below on the page with the images.

Is there a way to change the layout from 4 columns to 3 columns?

When making a post and inserting an image, SNAPS doesn’t listen to the listed width and height of the image. If I use a custom size, it ignores it completely to fill the full width of the post column.

I can get around this by doing inline css, but I don’t want to be doing that all the time. Is there a way to get it to follow the standard wordpress width/height settings?

For example:

• It ignores this: width=”200″ height=”400″ (generated by wp when placing an image).
• but, follows this: style=”width:200px; height:400px;”

Hello I have removed the meta data from the left hand side of the singular individual posts, however how do i make the article full width as the area where the meta data used to be is just a blank space now and i would like to remove it.

For some reason on most of the thumbnails there is a black 1px line to the right of the image.

This looks to be a cropping issue or something but there is a 1px thick line on the right hand side of a lot of my thubnails.

I am unsure why this is as all the thumbnail images are the same size. You can see the page at https://192.185.117.216/~danielnolan/web/.
