I have added a menu but cannot work out how to remove or hide the page list on the right hand side of the page. Looks poor with the menu in place so would it not to show.

I recently updated the Theme and found it added horrible dots under everything, re arranged my sub heading to be on an extra line and added nasty big buttons under the header.
So I went back to version 1.6 and now I can no longer read my posts! It’s putting the text as the same colour as the background, but from what I can see in the code it shouldn’t be, but it is! :/

any help on this would be great

I have had to colour the text for each page just so it is readable, but this has then made my links no longer change colour when “hovered”.

Also the “dots” next to links in my navigation (in my side bar) are also now showing the same colour as the background, pushing the text links over to the right making it look wierd.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

I really liked this theme and can’t believe I updated it thinking it would be even better to find it got worse and then when I tried to go back it broke!

First of all…I really like the theme very much… and I am quiet new to WP!

Right now I am working on with the theme not using a header.
That means that I set up a background pics and put up some widgets in the sidebar which show up nicely.
My idea for now is to not post anything except of maybe videos or soundlcoud files…
my probl: at the end of the post there are these grey dots as a space holder I guess..can’t find the code to hide them
How can I add a widget into the footer area..
Where is the code to adjust the height and width of my background image? Can’t seem to find it…
I hope it is ok that I asked several questions on one thread!!!

Is there a simple way to DISABLE COMMENTS ON IMAGES when using the sixhours theme?

I’m hoping somebody knows a method that will turn off image comments in the same way post comment can be turned off.

Hi. I’m hoping you can help me, because I really love your theme. I’ve just published my first post and discovered that I can’t use just one category. If I have only one selected, nothing appears for the post. If I choose two categories for the post, both appear on the blog. But unselecting either one of them in my dashboard makes both disappear on the blog. Can you offer any advice or a fix? Thanks so much.

I have updated Sixhours but can’t use the child theme that I was using as the update is so different. I have made a new child theme, but it just doesn’t work. Below is my style.css, is it wrong?

Should the Template name above be sixhours or Sixhours? I’ve tried both but it just doesn’t work.

I now use ‘sixhours’ for two websites but creating a blog page where posts can be collated and viewed on one of the sites is proving impossible.

On https://www.secretfocus.co.uk creating and using the news blog page has been no problem – it just happened. When you look at the blog page all of the posts appear available for viewing. This is what I want to happen!

On https://www.f8photoshots.co.uk I have created a news blog page and a few posts but the posts will not appear under the blog page. I cannot seem to get this site to work as I want – the same as secret focus.

Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

Is there any way to make the page or post edit pages wysiwyg for the Sixhours theme?

The edit page allows full width text but the web page is much narrower making the positioning of text and images very difficult.

I note on my second WordPress site using Twenty Eleven theme that the edit pages are wysiwyg by default and I have no problems there.

Following the recent update my Contact Form 7 font has changed from white to black and the background to the boxes has changed from black to dark grey. https://secretfocus.co.uk/contact-us/

This makes the text from enquirers difficult for them to read when typing.

I have looked through loads of previous posts but cannot find an answer that fits.

All I want is high contrast text to show in the boxes – preferably white text on black or dark grey.

Does anyone have a very simple solution please?

Is there a very (stress – very) simple way of hiding the dashboard title on pages and posts in the Sixhours theme?

I have updated to 2.0 and the menu has moved from the right hand side to the centre and looks awful. How do I get it back to the side – not bothered if its right or left – just not in the centre!

I removed the sidebar, but the remaining part is not centered, shifted to the left. Actually it is the position where it was before removing the sidebar. I tried some things but they did not work. So how can center the main page which includes the posts?

Really love this theme, but wondering if it’d be possible to/how I can create some tabs across the title line, aligned to the left of the screen, opposite the main title.

Essentially, I have just four pages I’d like on my site (n.b. it’s very much a work in progress), keeping it very minimalistic. However, I’d like the navigation of my site to be done not by using a sidebar, but by clicking on the title of each page (much like this theme, but on the other side).

Also, is it imperative to keep “Sixhours Theme by Caroline Moore” at the bottom of each page? Am I allowed to remove it? (Sorry, I’m totally, totally new to WordPress…).

Hi,

I want to change the width of the two columns. Which portions of the style.css file do I need to edit? I tried changing the width in “.content” and “ul.sidebar” but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Trying to get the Ultimate Google Analytics plugin to work with sixhours theme and have opened my google account first and then installed the plugin second – the right order I am told! However, when Google Analytics checks my website it says ‘Tracking Not Installed’. Google Analytics does give a code to paste onto every page immediately before the closing <head> tag but I would have thought the plugin did this for me! Any ideas anyone – note that I am new to this and HTML/code work is a mystery to me!

Love the theme and chose it for it’s great presentation for art work. I am using it right now for the development of a new site for my photography.

But, I would like to change the background color on some pages. Some of the suggestions on the forum don’t seem to apply, since the body tag does not appear in the page.php file.

The header.php file seems to contain that. Do those suggestions apply here? Can you help?

Hi there,
I have recently installed the six hours theme. It’s a fantastic theme, really great looking.

My question is, I have added a custom static menu to my site and am trying to add drop down menu items to each of my static buttons. I cannot seem to get this to work, I drag and drop the relevant pages under the static category but when I save and refresh the changes do not update.

I wondered if this theme supports drop down menus?

Hi, Caroline suggested I create a child Theme to protect my pages from possible future changes. Great idea…..one problem…..how do I create a child theme?? There are probably hundreds of guides out there for this so hopefully one of you guys can recommend one to me.
