Shapely in PHP 8.0 Critical Error

Hello, I’ve updated to php 8.0 and the same week my website started giving me a critical error on some pages of the site. I’ve tried to restore manually with our backups, but then the critical error takes over the whole site.

When I did the debug log, it says something like this (but there are 20+ more pages of it). Is this an error with the Theme? What else should I do to fix this?:

Good morning!?I encountering alignment issues with Shpley template, particularly with two widgets containing HTML code. The misalignment occurs during the initial page load and affects all desktop browsers.
If I resize browser or refresh the issue is not present.

Hi there I have a site using the Shapely theme and all of a sudden today after publishing a password protected page and changing it to public all items in the navigation menu have changed to have the label “Unititled”. After fixing this in Appearance –> Menu the items appear correctly however instantly revert back to Untitled. Tried many times as well as clearing cache of the site, removing different plugins in case of conflict and testing 3 different browsers with no success. Also tried editing via the WordPress customize feature with the same issue. Wondering if this is a known issue with the theme??

Hello,

I am using the Shapely Theme and when I am locked-in in WordPress and using the sneakpeak function my website is correctly shown like this

But when I am locked-out and looking at my website it looks like this (horrable) and it doesnt matter if I use Firefox or Google Chrome (the mobile version is working correct)

I didn’t changed anything in my website and I don’t know how to solve that problem.

The date shows twice in the header, why I don’t know. Can you please assist in fixing this issue? I can disable to show the date in the meantime, but if would be great if this could be fixed in the theme itself.

In the child theme I have developed I’m trying to add an option to the select blog_layout_view (you can find it in Blog settings >Blog Index Settings under Blog Layout section. I’m talking about the one generated by

When I try to edit my homepage menu sub items, the pages under the menu are unable to be clicked. I am trying to add two of my homepage menus’s (Our location and Our team) under my About us page, but it does not allow me to click these pages after I add them as sub items in appearance – menus editor. On my blog, the Shaply theme is showing the date, twice.

I have not been able to correct this, using custom format as is.

On posts with revision date both original post date and revision dates appear

Hello,

This is similar to another support request but there was no resolution.

In the post header a combined date appears if there is a revision to the post. In the linked page it says “November 14, 2022February 9, 2023” with the original post date being 11/14/22 and the revised date 2/9/23…

In this post https://jlcauvin.com/road-comedy-recap-heavy-lyfting-in-princeton/ that was not revised the proper date shows.

In the https://jlcauvin.com/blog/ page (listing all posts) the dates are correct so I believe it has to be an issue with a template that is only used in single post displays… but I have no idea where to look and what to look for.

Also, if I switch off dates in settings both dates are gone.

Hi there I am currently working with a WordPress site that uses Shapely for it’s theme. The blog is setup to point to a static full width page that shows all blog posts published.

The reader settings are set to excerpt in WordPress and no external plugins are in place regarding post excerpts.

I have gone to publish a blog post however which is set to private and when I go to preview the blog page whilst logged into WordPress all posts show with no excerpt just title, image and read link however this one blog post shows a full preview of the entire content.

I originally fixed this by adding a featured image which was missing however the issue has started appearing again and I need to get it sorted before I can publish the post live.

Wondering if this is a known issue and there is a workaround I can apply.

2) I am trying to customize the black footer section by adding another menu and my contact information.

I′m running Shapely theme in my website.

The issue is when adding a new item in the main menu, it gets into 2 lines regardless I have enough space in both sides of the menu to include more elements without the necessity of add a new line.

For you info if it helps for the recommendation., I have also intalled Max Mega Menu plugin.

Since the last update i can’t edit the front page, it says the_content is missing in the current theme. We use Elementor Pro. I have tried to shut down all the plugins but it still doesn’t work. But then I tried to switch theme, and then i could edit the front page.

Are there anyone else that has this problem since the last update? And have a solution that I can try to make it work?

Mobile Menu

I noticed yesterday that my primary menu was not working on mobile devices. I then installed WP Mobile Menu and made a new menu for mobile pages.

The new mobile menu is working fine on all pages, except the homepage. I cannot get it to appear on my home page, which is a problem because the primary menu does not work on the mobile homepage.

I have a new warning showing up on all of the pages on my site except the homepage. Here is the warning:

Warning: Undefined variable $options in /home/customer/www/intimacywithgod.com/public_html/wp-content/themes/shapely/inc/extras.php on line 766

Any idea how to fix this ?

Shapely Hero Height

Looking for a way to decrease the height of the hero section (its the home parallax widget). In this specific example, reduce the space above “Welcome” and the space below the “New Visitors Please Start Here” button.

I found this code, but it doesn’t change the height of the section I’m trying to change. It just takes the section below it and slides it under the hero.
