My site, made using savona blog, was running fine and then instantly a fatal error came and it stopped working. Seems like syntax error but can’t find the solution. Savona Support not responding. Error is:

My webhost is discontinuing PHP 7.4. It offers an auto-install of 8.0 or 8.1, but when I click on either upgrade, my Savona-based website shows this: “Warning: Trying to Access Array Offset on Value of Type Bool in /webroot….” I am not a technical person, so would not like to go in and mess with the code.
Is Savona working on a PHP upgrade? Or can somebody give me some advice? Thanks.

I’ve searched on google and inside this forum, but the solutions I have found (both specific for this template and generic for wordpress) have not worked, so I decided to open a new thread.

I have used Savona as a theme for a website of a friend of mine. Everything is perfect, except that I can’t find a way to disable the drop caps. As the website often start with short sentences, they create more problems than the beauty advantages they brings. Here is an example:

I’ve tried using the custom CSS, but it seems it is ignored by the theme… I’ve looked into the database, examined the standard CSS of the template… but I can’t manage to get rid of them.

The new version of this theme and wordpress are having a fatal error on my website. It looks as though the theme required plugin “Podamibe Simple Footer Widget Area” is one of these plugins which cannot be deactivated because this theme requires it?

How can this be resolved?

Using ID before a tag in CSS causes priority. It has caused some problems with other plugins like us.

So if you can change the CSS selector “.post-content a,” instead of “#page-content a,” that should be good for us both.

I have a problem with capital letters. When you enter the web, in the extracts, they are seen correctly.

However, once the entry or post is open, it is overwritten with the first word, leaving it quite ugly.

The phrase/link appears twice in the header. I’d like to remove the top link and change the other header link. Clicking on it gives menu options and I’m not good at menus. How can I change the text & link to a link to my shop? I’m using the Bold sub-theme.

I’m trying to modify the Savona theme to use the switch_to_blog(1) in the blog-grid.php and/or single.php templates for a client but it does not work no matter where I place the switch_to_blog(1) function and I cannot find anywhere in the functions.php script that would be buffering or otherwise modifying the post content.
This works in other themes on the same network, but I cannot seem to get it to work in the Savona theme.

Hi, I upgraded from 5.6 to 7.3 php and the whole website disappeared online. It just said technical difficulties. I called my host, ipower, who reverted it back to 5.6. (I have several other blogs which had images disappear with 7.3, but the blogs themsevles were up. Oddly, the gifs remained, but the jpegs were blank in the media libraries and broken images online, but I could see the images if I hit edit)

So I ran the php compatibility Checker plugin and it says all my plugins are fine, but the Savona theme had a warning: File has mixed line endings; this may cause incorrect results.

Will you be upgrading this theme to run on 7.0 or 7.3 php? I hope so – I like it!

I wonder if someone can help. My site looks great on my laptop but when I go to it on my phone I lose my header image and just have an ugly blue menu! It wasn’t happening before but it is now! If you click view full site at the bottom.of the page it looks normal again but I want it to look normal without having to do that!

I am using a header image as the title for my site. But how do I optimize the image so it is the correct size on mobile? Is there a code I can insert that will make the header image fit on mobile? It is too zoomed in currently because it doesn’t fit across the top of the mobile landing page.

I was able to remove the drop cap using your response to another user. However my first paragraph character is a hyperlinked article title. When I remove the drop cap the first character does not pick up the hyperlink style. It links ok but, the ‘a’ link style doesn’t apply.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for this theme as well. I’m a fan!

I guess this is pretty trivial – but haven’t found the answer though… I am developing a new wordpress blog, with the theme Savona in the moment. When displaying the page with the blog posts, I would like to see the image I include to each post displayed as well. It’s not the “featured image”, in principal, although that could be a workaround. I have done that years ago with my principal blog: https://lebensraum-permakultur.de. But don’t know how to achieve that with the new theme. Any suggestions? Thanks for an hints!
