When I created my website in 2020, I used the Rookie theme, and made customizations to it. I didn’t use a child theme, but probably should have.

Now, as the Rookie theme is updated, I can’t update my theme properly, because WordPress will only do updates to their own themes.

Trying to figure out if there is a way to go back – without disrupting my site for longer than a day, let’s say – and fix this? My thinking is, go back to the original Rookie theme temporarily, then generate a child theme and make the changes there.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Is there a better way? I should point out, my knowledge is fairly basic… “I know enough to be dangerous” ??

all of a sudden this week my player lists of been acting strange. When I go to update a liist it will remove all my players because the list of players selected is hidden and I am suddenly unable to add jersey number in the lists. Not sure if it was a theme update issue or what?

Would anyone happen to know how I could have a more indepth Submenu on Rookie theme?

I want it so that when you hover over any of the Menu links it will open a Submenu that would have possibly 2 colums with different contents. If you look at the motherwell fc website you will see what I mean

Thanks you for the great Rookie Theme and also Sportspress plugins.
Using mobile view and submenus does not function well. The submenu expands when I select the item on the main menu and quickly disappears and this page is loaded. So I am not able to select a submenu item. See i.e. OCHTENDPROGRAMMA (MO10-MO13) on my site.
Can you please advise on how to prevent this and make selecting a submenu item possible?

After installation and activation of a (new) plugin (in the menu plugin), the plugin is not visible (does not appear) in het admin menu (black part left side of admin page). I am adminstrator. Does anyone has the same problem, I could not find a solution in the topics. Thank you for your help.

The theme has a conflict with “Elementor”. I get the following error on the theme when trying to use Elementor: “You must call “the_content” function int the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.”

Please fix this. I am your SportsPress Pro user and need Elementor to work on Rookie.

I started working on Rookie theme (sportspress 1.5.4) and all was good. Decided to upgrade to Rookie Plus (sportpress 1.5.2 with no upgrades from that) and everything doesn’t work. I have to delete rookie plus and go back to rookie for it to work. Please help. Thank you

Not sure when this started happening as we have not used the website for a couple years due to the pandemic. On desktop web browsers everything displays properly but on Android & iOS mobile devices we get this error.

On our Player Stats list page, I added some descriptive text to indicated an abbreviation code used in players names. This text is displayed above the player list table, I would like it moved to below the table. How can I achieve this?

I’m creating baseball league web site with sportpress.
On the desktop, the menu items are separetelly displayed with unfold. But on the mobile, the menu items are integrated into three horizontal bars.
How can I show the menu items with unfolded on the mobile?

We are an organization of teams of different ages. We all play under the same organizational name. We don’t typically play each other in tournaments because of the difference in ages.

I’d like to disable the Ranking on the Team page where is says Pos and shows a 1 for each team. I did look in the Configure section and saw how to disable *Pct* but it just changes that column to Zero’s and doesn’t make the column go away.

Can I remove that column somewhere? Have we misconfigured something that’s causing that to appear when disabled?

Anyone know what to do with this error and if it is caused by any issues with the theme? No major changes were made recently.

On my site, all my posts appear on my homepage. Then I have separate pages for the different sports I cover, categorizing each appropriately. If it’s about football, it’s tagged “Football,” etc.
All of a sudden, new posts have stopped appearing on those separate pages, though they still appear on the main page, so the posts are being published overall, but not coming up on the sport-specific page.
What’s even more confusing is that when I got o edit that sport-specific page, the latest posts DO show up. They’re showing up in the page editor, but not the actual page.
Any thoughts?

I’m having trouble loading the page with the Rookie theme.
If I change the theme to any of the WordPress repository the web loads without problems, now when I load the Rookie theme it tells me that there is a memory problem and it does not load the web or any section.

I already deleted the issue from the FTP, I reloaded it and it continues with the same problem, what can be the solution?

Hi there, I wanna change the text “Continue reading” on our site to norwegian. How do I do this?

Have go trough almost everything on our site, but can not find this.

After a recent update to theme Rookie, BWS recaptcha no longer works or at least appears. Looking at the source code you can see it’s there but does not display. This also affect the Nextend Social Login plugin as well.
I did try deactivating all plugins and only enabling the recaptcha with the Rookie Theme and still does not work.
Any help would be greatly appreicated.

I am using the Rookie theme as a sports media website. We cover high school sports. We do live broadcasts (but not 24/7) so we have a listen live button in a sidebar that links to a pop up player, and we used a Custom HTML for this in the sidebar.

While a PC/laptop or tablet user can easily see the button, on a mobile device you have to scroll all the way down below blog content.

Is there a way I could have a “Play” image at or near the top of the mobile page so that people won’t need to scroll down far? It doesn’t need to be large, just prominent so that it can be one of the first things people see.
