Since quite a while I get errors in the webserver log about the purple-pastels theme, saying that layout.css and color.css are missing.
apache error.log:
File does not exist: /[webroot]/wp-content/themes/purple-pastels/layout.css
File does not exist: /[webroot]/wp-content/themes/purple-pastels/color.css
I downloaded the source, and a I found out that it could come from print.css:
~/Downloads/purple-pastels$ grep -r layout.css *
print.css:@import url(layout.css);
Esthetically I have problems with an exclamation mark showing in from of a gravitar in the comments sections. Unfortunately I still didn’t find out what could cause this error. I guess it could have something to do with these missing files.
Example page: https://www.krusj.nl/?p=96#comments
It shows that sometimes KrusjMe has an exclamation mark, and other times not. Apparently only in the white comment boxes.
That’s all. ??
Anybody an idea how to fix this?

Per your original response, I upgraded Word Press. As a result, I received a fatal error which effectively eliminated my site.
In addition, I no longer have access to my dashboard, cannot access WP in any way.
As a bonus, my last download said it had emailed me the backup – it did not.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you
Michelle

Hello Esmi
Thanks for the theme! I to am having the same issue as bellydanceddreams
I upgraded the theme today, will upgrade to WP 9.2 next week. Don’t like to do to many things at one time.
I guess my question is – Do the left and right borders only disappear when viewing in the WordPress dashboard?
Makes things look a little weird.
I did check the site on Chrome – and want to know if it is cached?
My site is

I appreciate – and I will double check myself tomorrow.

Hi, I updated my wp and theme and now the purple flowers/ butterfly picture is no longer showing. And the links along the top do not have the button thing that used to be around them (you can still see it in the theme preview)
Any ideas?
Hello,
First I would like to thank you for this nice theme.
I have built a site based on this theme and when I looked at the way that the google search preview is presenting my site I saw that google is taking content from my sidebar instead of the main part. (In my case numbers from 1 to 30 because I have put the calendar widget in the sidebar).
I read about this issue and it turns out that google is just taking the first part that is appearing in the wordpress page for the preview content and that is why it is advised to call in wordpress the loop first and the sidebar later.
In this theme the sidebar is called first.
When I tried to change the order, I got problems with the layout.
Is there a quick fix? do you have an idea how I can force google search not to take data from the sidebar?
Here is the page code as it is now:
<?php get_header();
get_sidebar();?>

<?php get_template_part( ‘loop’, ‘page’ );?>
<?php get_footer();
This is my third post and I need some help quick. I am using Purple Pastels for my blog and just had a custom header made. I told my designer to use the header size listed which is 960 X 139 pixels. I put it in and it looks too big. I checked the header and it is indeed 960 X 139 pixels. How can I fix this. My site is https://krisonfitness.com to look at the issue.
although there are a couple of child themes for this one that I see in my dashboard. My first question is how do I make my new custom header fit? Like I said I don’t know code so it needs to be relayed to me in a very simplified way. Second, if I can’t get this to work, is are there themes out there that I can just upload a header with the correct size and drop it in without having to fiddle with it?
Thank You!
I love your Purple Pastels theme. It is perfect for my site: https://fibromighty.com/
I need the site to be fixed width so the header doesn’t keep moving. I don’t see where the adjustable width is set up in the editor section. Can you please let me know.
thanks!

Hi, can I start by saying that I love the simple but elegant design of your theme. Its great for my clients Nail Salon.
That said, I have two issue that I cannot resolve:
– I would like to have a full width, single column page with no side bar or comments. The closest I can find is the Site Map template but this does allow my content to use the full width. Is there a way for me to do this?
– When I do have the side bar turned on, I have a purple symbol in the side bar, which I cannot get rid of and does not lead anywhere. It is shown as linking to my domain/feed? Do you know how I can remove this?
Any help you can give me would be great.
My test domain is purpletest1.eu.
I have left the home page with the side bar on so you can see the symbol.
Thank you in advance
Dominic
Hello,
I want to display the titles of the navigation bar in Caps. This one almost helps me out but not completely:
earlier support
If I create a site with a title like “über mich” the website shows only “über mich” or (with the above linked change of the css) “über Mich”.
Is there a way. that the Navigation-Bar shows exactly, what I wrote as title while creating the site?
Thanks in advance
Dirk
