Great theme! Finally figure out how to make it work since before this theme I had posts on pages.
Now my question is: is it possible to add separate pages, for example 1. Work, 2. Personal, 3. Fun and etc and have each page pull posts(or pages?) from a category or maybe tags?
Home page displays “Portfolio Items” so maybe there is a way to add more “templates”? And how would I go about it?
I could show posts on those pages, but I would like to have the thumbnails displayed just like on the Home Page.

I’m trying to change the white overlay in my portfolio to black, and the font color to white. Also looking for a way to change the opacity of the now white overlay. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance!

It randomizes. Is it possible to change using other settings:
– New pages first
– Page with more visits
– …
– …

Thank you for the oren theme, I have been playing with it and it’s nice.

There is just one thing I cannot understand. On some of my links, the green color #1abc9c appears even if I totally deleted this color from the css style sheets. I have no idea how this color can still appear on my website. Do you have any clue?

Hi! I’ve just noticed (after launching the whole website of course) that it’s not working properly on mobile. All the featured images that I have are not shown on mobile, which means the front page has only menu. Even logo is not there. Anyone has any idea why it might happened? I’m new to WordPress, trying out various themes, and really like Oren. One question: is there a way to use an image-slider in place of the header image?

I’ve played around with Meta Slider and like it. However, it seems like integrating it with themes other than Vantage requires some under-the-hood modifications to the code.

Is there a way to integrate Meta Slider with Oren? Or is there another slider option that you’d recommend?

I am creating a portfolio for multiple artists. To do so I have created a ‘template-page’ and ‘template-portfolio-item’ php file for each artist and each of their images respectively. For example: John Smith’s portfolio page would be called: ‘template-smith-page’ and a page for one piece of his artwork would be called: ‘template-smith-portfolio-item’. This all works perfectly well.

However, on the home page I am unable to show all ‘template-portfolio-item’s belonging to all artists. For example:

This piece of code will return all of John Smith’s artwork on the home page. But if I wanted to also have another artist’s portfolio items appear after John Smith’s e.g. template-smith-portfolio-item && template-campbell-portfolio-item; then I begin to have problems, and either no portfolio items appear or the most recent ones replace the old ones.

How would I go about changing the code so I can display all images from multiple template-portfolio-item PHP files?

I have so far tried:

Multiple meta_value variables
meta_query ‘s
multiple WP_Query ‘s

If you could help me I’d appreciate it a lot otherwise I will have to manually enter the images on to the homepage which will prove very time consuming.

Hi there,

I had to move my website to a different server and after that the portfolio items now are not being cropped or shown in equal dimensions.

Some of the images are bigger or small making it all scrambled.

Any tips to solve this?

I’d like to know if it is possible to create a portfolio item that links to a grid page (belonging to the “home” category):

For instance if on:
https://guilhem.co/ I would click on “footage” and that would link to another grid page similar to https://guilhem.co/, but with different portfolio items. Would it be possible, if yes how to do so?

How do you make the thumbnails in the homepage almost square cropped and uniform and yet have the featured image post exactly the way it is?

the sharing buttons are showing up now the latest update has been released which is great but when I do a test share, the feature image, title and description are all missing from the share dialogue window. Can you please advise if this will be fixed? I’ve tried alternative plugin without success.

I noticed some problems in the oren theme

A/ For the menu of social networks, if I have only one link, there is a display error

B/ If option “show description” is checked, the menu is much too low in tablet or phone size, collapse menu (without logo too)

C/ If option “menu top padding” is checked (eg 20px), the animeted menu is really not smooth

Hi, I have created a homepage and set the template to Home but it is not showing up as per your demo. the header image is narrower and I cant see the smaller text in the header either. Do I have to have a posts/new page assigned to make this work?

I tried many times with all informations i found on “Getting started” but i’m sorry i can’t arive to have the thumbnails in the home page
i have a home page defined like template “HOME” and when i publish a new page like “PORTFOLIO ITEM” anything appears in the home page
do i have to make a page parent or a number for “order” ?
i’m doing something wrong but i don’t know what is it : )

Hello, I’m using Oren for my portfolio and the number of thumbnails is limited at 12. After 12 items, appears a next button redirecting to a “page 2 not found on the server…
Is it possible to have an infinite number of thumbnails ? Whenever how can I manage the next button ?

First of all, you guys have done an amazing job with the theme. Thanks very much for it.

I am currently trying to move the menu, along with the logo, to be on top (in front) of the header background image with the background stretching to the top of the browser.

How would I go about to do this? What’s the easiest way?
With some really basic knowledge, I assume some codes might have to be moved. I realized that the code for the menu itself is within header.php – would i move this to a different to a different .php page? Could the background of the menu be replaced as a continuity of the header background?

I am currently working with a child-theme of oren.
I have below provided you with a link to a screenshot of what I currently have and a photoshop montage of what I would like to achieve.

If I remove the hook, the text will be displayed.
I want to remove the text on the home page. What am I doing wrong.

I have a question about customization (using Oren for my portfolio) – is it ok if I substitute the footer text with my own and tweak things in the code? Are there any restrictions? I’d love to buy Zeno in the near future, but for now I’m sticking to Oren ?? Thanks!

Love the theme. But I have some trouble with a strings in the site not translating to Dutch (like the ‘More’)
If I check you translation I see that Dutch is 61% translated, but the More has been translated… So I am not sure why it doesn’t translate!

The problem is not in the child-theme I made, if I switch to Oren, than the problem still occurs.

Is there something I am missing?
Is there a setting I should do, or a file I should download?

First I just hardcoded the Dutch string into the template in the childtheme, but I need it to translate since the site is in 2 languages now (Dutch and English… I am using Polylang plugin for that)

I have another question. In your demo of Oren:https://themeora.com/demos/oren/ the header text has two different sizes. However, I haven’t found a way to change that. How is it done? do I go into the code somewhere and change it?

Is it possible to make a featured image appear only as a thumbnail on the “home” page, but not actually within the page itself that it links to?

When I click on a thumbnail now it takes me to a new page where a bigger version of the thumbnail is seen. I am planning on putting a gallery in there and find the thumbnail image to be a bit distracting.

I am really impressed with the clean look of the theme so far and like it a lot.

I’d like to know what the recommended size for the header and background are, as I am not sure were to find that information. I do not see that information when selecting the image header/background.

If possible I’d also like to know what settings I would need to change to make the homepage tiled with images as seen in the preview for Oren
