Apart from syle.css importing from the Parent theme, do I need any other file in my opulus-sombre-child directory, please?

When I activate my Child theme, this doesn’t look ok and I would say that in the past (I have been reading a lot of threads about this) I saw somewhere that one or two other files had to be transferred to the child directory? Maybe functions.php or header.php?

Is there a way to make the action text more centered so that it doesn’t stretch out the entire length of the page?

How do I get rid of the huge space between the banner slideshow and the action text when viewing the mobile version? It looks fine on the desktop.

Is there a way to add instagram to the social media icons at the bottom…

only options givin are facebook, google +, linked in, twitter, etc but not instagram

I need some help figuring out how to use the Alternative Sidebars for Pages.

Example, on Alternative Sidebar 1, I added a featured image carousel with 4 random pics, set the visibility to Show IF “page” is “Portfolio” and clicked save.

Instructions say that widget will show in sidebar if post or page is tagged with sidebar1. My question is: How do you tag a page as sidebar1?

Is there a way to remove the words “Read More”, which appear in the excerpts on the front page if I select to have the featured pages shown?

After updating the theme to v 1.2.7, my featured boxes on my front page no longer show. I use a child theme and have re-created a new child theme for the new version because for some reason my old child theme no longer worked.
Everything seems to be running as intended except the featured boxes. I have double (and triple) checked to make sure the box in the options is ticked as well as the pages for the featured content are there.

When I did a check with firebug it seems that the “featured_wrap” container is missing.

Any advice on a quick fix?

I have a static page set as the front page, but the sidebar widget isn’t appearing. When I set a different page to the home page, the sidebar widget appears correctly on the original page (but not the new frontpage)

I have set the sidebar widget for the Frontpage to have items, and that doesn’t appear at any time (posts or static pages). I removed the widget sidebar items, and set the page to full width – the text goes to full width but the images in a tiled mozaic remain with an element style of 765px.

I set the right sidebar on the page concerned to No 1, and entered items in Alt Sidebar 1, but it doesn’t appear if this page is the front page.

I assume this is about the Frontpage (whatever page or post I choose), and not the page itself.

I do need the gallery to be full width. I would be happy to either get a sidebar to appear so the narrow gallery looks fine, or to get the entire page to full width.

Please can anyone help?

Logo is not showing up.

In Opulus Sombre Theme options panel, when I click “Browse” there nothing happens. I disabled adblock, reinstall java. Tested on another machine, and the result was the same. Everything was fine (probably – 95%) until update to 1.2.3 Opulus version. I even uninstall whole theme, install the 1.2.4 from WP themes base, and guess what… It’s still not working. Any idea?

DEfault setting of opulus-sombre allows EITHER logo OR Text (Site name) to be displayed

I want to show them both

Please let me know how i can get this done.

I’m relatively new to wordpress with a basic understanding of CSS, HTML etc. I’ve pretty much finished my site, just adding the last images and final touches. Really want to use a custom font (not google etc) with the Opulus Sombre Theme, having tried several tutorials I still can’t seem to use a custom font for this theme.

I’ve uploaded the font files and tried to change the font family in the pages but can’t seem to get it to work. I know I probably need to change the themes CSS but can’t see what it is in the CSS that i need to change.

Any suggestions? if you solve this then you are my hero ??

With some images i use for a background header image on my frontpage, i get a nasty looking white border around it. It’s not with all images, but with the best looking this happens. I know have an image on it which has this issue (on gnes.emclogics.com).

Is there anyone whom can help me with this to solve it? I tried padding the image, giving it a border, repositioning, cutting edges, and more, but no success.

I updated a theme code to remove an RSS feed and am now receiving the error

I have made a Page and in the select temple there aren’t “Portfolio”, just I have “Frontpage Alt”, “Full widht” and “Site Map”.

I cannot get the featured pages as set on the Front Page to show up?

I have set featured images on all of my chosen pages 4-6 in options on Front Page.

I have assigned my page as a Front Page under Readings.

Is there is something else obvious I am missing?

I’m experiencing some trouble with the responsiveness of my website on my mobile Phone (iPhone 4S, no jailbreak).

I CAN open my site but it will get stuck at my homepage. The menu doesn’t work in the right corner.
The strange thing is that it’s only for https://www.iforperfection.com and not for https://www.iforperfection.nl.

That’s strange beacause my .nl domain is registered to redirect to my .com domain.

If i open my .nl account on my iPhone it will open the normal webpage and nog a responsive page for mobile phones.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

I am using the Opulus Sombre theme, WP3.6.1 for https://www.sitefor59.info . I have cleared out all the widgets and still i am getting the wordpress rss feed in the footer, as well as ‘recent posts’ and ‘tags’. I would like to remove all from the footer, but right now the rss feed is my primary concern.
ideally css would be great – i try to avoid editing php files but will do if necessary.

I have been using the opulus-sombre theme for a month or so. During that time I have customized settings using the “Theme Options” page. Things are looking good.

I have now created a child theme and activated it. When I do that I lose all of the changes I’ve made since I started using the theme. When I go back and activate the o-s theme I get them all back.

I am new to WordPress and am curious where all of these settings are being saved when I use the “Opulus-Sombre Theme Options” page. Is there a way I can get all of my previous changes incorporated into my child theme?

Well, I belive the topic asks the question. I can’t seem to find a function, or code, that makes it possible for me to remove the dark frame around the featured images on the frontpage.

Any ideas on how to do that?

When I look at my (not finished) site in Firefox the positioning looks o.k. but when I look at it in Safari the whole site is situated on the left side of the page. Is there an extra style I can use to solve this? I use WP version 3.6 and a child theme of opulus sombre

Hi. I am having a problem getting rid of the default “categories” widget on my blog pages. I created a sidebar that includes a categories widget and I called it “recipes”. It is where I want it under the “search” widget. However, when I create a post, the default “categories” gets put on the sidebar above the list of widgets that I specified in my custom sidebar. So it looks like this:
Categories
Search
Recipes
Recent Posts
Archives

When all I want is it to be like:
Search
Recipes
Recent Postst
Archives

I cant get rid of it! Its driving me nuts lol. Please help!

Hi. Im having trouble getting rid of the calendar in my blog posts and on the page where my blog posts go. When I created the page and each post, I choose the sidebar that I made with the widgets that I want (the calendar is NOT one of them). However, the calendar and categories are the only things I see in the sidebar when I click on the menu to get to my blog page or when I click on the post through “category” or “archives”. If I click on the post itself, I get the proper sidebar that I want. How do I customize it so that the sidebar I want shows up in EVERY instance on my blog page and not just some.
