Since News-way theme is a child theme of Newsup theme, in order to make any changes we must create a child theme of the child theme (grandchild theme) or is it ok to change whatever we want in News-way theme without the fear of breaking/losing every change after an update?

How can we modify the existing “latest news/posts’ slider that is directly below the nav menu and tag area.

Currently the slider retrieves post data from wordpress categories. I want to modify this code so that it shows my latest posts from my forums instead (I have an API set up that will work once I can find out where the parent files of this slider are)

I noticed that the theme hid part of the title
I need to have the whole title read, so I inserted this CSS:

.mg-sec-top-post .title {
    overflow-y: visible !important;
}

But I have a problem:
as you can see if the title is particularly long, but especially in the mobile version the publication date overlaps the title

Latest requests:
I would need to publish not only the date but also the time of publication
I would then need to publish the date and time in European format!

I have the News Way Theme and when I open up any of my posts on my site, the featured image is displayed on the top TWICE. I have gone to Themes > Customize > Additional CSS and have copied and pasted this code onto there:
.single .featured-image {
display: none !important;
}
This did not get rid of the second featured image picture. This has worked on other themes, so I don’t know why it doesn’t with this one. I don’t know what else to do to fix this issue. Please help!
