I need very basic instructions for adding Mon Cahier child theme so I can modify the font sizes on my blog. I have the blog set up but would like to change some things around. If anyone can share a link on instructions (as basic as possible) that would be great!! Thank you.

I remove sidebar from single.php using full-width file.
Sidevar gone, but column with content has still this same size, how set full size column?

I’ve been trying to embed tweets onto my blog. I tried copying the individual tweet from Twitter and pasting it directly into the body of my blog post. I’ve also hovered my mouse over the timestamp, right-clicked, and selected “Copy Link Address”.

What I got in return was a block formatted quote, that has all of the links and wording of the original tweet, except that it looks like a quote.

How do I get the actual tweet embedded? Is this a theme issue?

In functions.php, function mon_cahier_scripts()
There is a line: wp_enqueue_style(‘googleFonts’, ‘https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cutive|Reenie+Beanie’);

This gives problems when the website uses https.
So, I changed it to:
$protocol = is_ssl() ? ‘https’ : ‘http’;
wp_enqueue_style(‘googleFonts’, $protocol.’://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cutive|Reenie+Beanie’);

Not sure if tis was mentioned before but…

I noticed the style of the byline changed from nice and small and ital on the front page, to no styling on the single post.

There’s a little typo on content-single.php (about 15 lines down):

Says <div class=”entrymeta”>
Should say <div class=”entry-meta”>

And then it’s all pretty like the front page ??

We have been using the mon cahier for a couple years now/

I added a post thumbnail to a category page template.

I also changed the sizing in the functions file from the big 640 to something much smaller

I also added a class to make the pic align left on the excerpts (archive -category) page instead of being in the middle.

There is only one problem. The featured img keeps displaying above the post title and to the left.

It should display under the title and to the left of the text of the excerpt.

I must be using the wrong code in the style sheet.

Could you please tell me which line to change/add to the css?

And, I am using a child theme for the category page template and other file changes.

Hi, I have read through the previous threads to try to make the icons visible on my site (www.theishgirlsdish.com). I compared the CSS (it was the same), emptied my cache (still couldn’t see them), and checked the html to see if there were any obvious errors (there don’t seem to be). When I hover over where there supposed to be, the hand icon appears, so I know they’re there – they are just invisible. Any suggestions?

Firstly thanks for a great theme, I have a nice little Adsense site ticking over well with it! ??

I am now trying to split test my way to increased CTR’s and want to add a banner image to my header.

Currently I have a logo header image on my site. I tired to get the images to sit on top of it but couldn’t manage. Is there a way of doing this?

Also when I removed the image and just added a site headline the font was huge and took up the whole header. Would there be a way of making the headline font smaller and then adding the header to the right of it?

Any help wold be really appreciated!

Hi!

I am using Mon Cahier as my theme and I love the simple yet slick look of the theme. The only issue I have is that my images look weird on the mobile version (tablet works fine). The text areas and images are not in the same ratio so the images are not reduced in size but more slimmed down. Is there any way I can change the settings for this? My blog is mostly pictures so I’d love for them to look great also on a mobile.

I’m using my university’s WordPress site, so I’m not certain about the version. I’ve placed the URLs to my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, but the buttons don’t work when you click on them. A Safari page comes up and says it can’t open the server named loriannstephens. I keep resetting it with https://&#8230;., but the command doesn’t work. Any suggestions for what I’m doing wrong? Per the previous thread, I added this new class (below) to the CSS Custom Manager. In Pages, on the Text tab, I can format some text with this new format using the <casualtext> tag. Preview shows the text in the new font. But when I click the Visual tab, it removes the <casualtext> tags. Any idea on how I can get this new format to “stick?”

I’m using Mon Cahier as my blog theme and am quite happy with it. I’m wondering if you can point me in the right direction with regards to how to change the font for blockquote and possibly some of the other styles? I see how the font is defined in the CSS file:

I see this is a Google font. Can I just replace the font name with any Google font? Or is there somewhere else in another file where you point to the Google fonts? I have a development background, so I think if you point me in the right direction, I can get there.

I’m hosting on Network Solutions, so I don’t think I have the option to create a child theme. But I do have Custom CSS Manager installed, so I’m guessing that’s where I can “override” the font.

Hi! I’ve been playing around trying to center (justify, actually) the links in the navigation bar for a while and I’m pretty sure I’m missing something obvious. I’ve created a child theme which I’m working from, and the code I think I should be editing is this section..

Am I missing something? I’ve cleared my cache a few times and I still can’t seem to get it to work. I’m obviously changing the text-align property. Thoughts, suggestions?

Hi, first of all great theme! I love it.
I am trying to add a new widget area just under the navigation menu. I want it to be a horizontal row of post thumbnails for quick visual impact. There are widgets to do that but it seems I can only add widgets to the sidebar??
I think I need to add a new widget area to the header?
Does anyone know how to do that?

I’m pretty new at this but really want to figure this out.

For our site using mon-cahier, there is a request to expand the Menu element (blocks) over the whole width of the area (#masthead in the css), dispatched according to the windows size.

Is there a way?

And is there a way to put an image, or two either left or right of the written title, or replace the entire written title by a graphic?

Using mon-cahier(child)-theme
Just get lost the display ability for other widgets in the sidebar, don’t know how.
Had a nextGen widget working perfectly fine and removed the default ones.
Using Display-Widgets Plugin, this one went just being updated.
I can remove all widgets by altering sidebar.php brutally.
Have you a hint why mon-cahier does not accept anymore to display altered widgets?
I mean having read something about this some months before written by Christine, but cannot find it anymore.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me why my child theme isn’t reading the inc folder? I added the folder to my mon-cahier-child folder and copied template-tags.php so I could remove the “by <author>” data under the post title. If I delete this information in my main mon cahier theme it works, but when I try to do it in the child theme, the edit to the file has no effect on the theme.

I love how crisp, clean and uncluttered the the Mon Cahier theme is-Thank you! I adore the theme.

I am having issues with adding social media links to my website (https://thezars.com/).

In the theme options I have linked to my social media accounts (facebook and pinterest) but they don’t show up at the top. They used to before, but one day they just disappeared. I didn’t change the code or anything. I even tried re-installing the theme but nothing happened.

The same thing happens when I try to link to my facebook page using the facebook code through a text widget box-I am not sure how to fix this.
