The ability to automatically show more posts on the homepage screen when a user scrolls down is working on Safari, but no longer works on Chrome and IE. Is this still supported?

Marla Theme is the best!….However Im currently having an issue with my site contributors images being stretched. Ive tried swapping out the Site Contributors Plugins, but I still get the same results. The images are stretched to the full length of the page.

A couple of questions/issues about the mobile view:

1. It seems that the right side of some of my images are getting cut off in the mobile view. Any tips on how to fix this to optimize site viewing on a mobile phone?

2. I’m trying to customize my header image and set the height in px to the image height (200px). It looks great in desktop view, but in mobile view the header image overlaps with the menu. When I increase the header height in px, it looks better on mobile but leaves a large white space in desktop view. How can I fix this to look good on both?

First, I’d like to say thank you very much for creating such a wonderful theme for WordPress. I generally don’t like using WordPress… I guess I’m a bit more oldschool and enjoy HTML pages, but for blogs and posts, you just can’t beat WordPress as a powerful tool. Your theme Marla has such a fantastic way of showing off new content posts and I used it to revive a friend of mine’s Retro Gaming blog located at: https://retro-type.com/blowingdust/

I’ve looked through a lot of the other posts for some various modifications, some of which I have applied as a custom CSS code for changing the width of the content / post area, centering the Nav Bar, changing it’s hover color, etc.

I saw one other thread here where they were able to get the navigation bar centered just like I have, but they lost the background bar (which I made as a white bar originally when everything was originally left-aligned) and that has happened to me as well. I think having the navigation centered and placed ontop of the full page width background bar is what some of us were trying to figure out how to do and were unsuccessful so far.

The other tweak I wanted to make if possible is to see if I can disable the opacity that happens to all other surrounding articles when you hover over any one particular article or div. I tried to figure it out, but I was unsuccessful. I do however notice that it seems to stop doing this behavior as you scroll down the page a bit more and new articles populate the screen.

I was able to change the header/toolbar colors on a previous website (using the Marla theme) under the Navigation tab. However, my current version doesn’t have a Navigation tab, and I’ve tried adding the Custom CSS codes that you’ve shared with others having the same issue.

I also tried adding the Custom CSS code you provided for someone else to center the navigation menu, but that doesn’t seem to be working either.

Any tips?

all My pages and posts are showing up only in half part of the content space like there is a sidebar ; I changed the page setting to full width but it is still showing up half width ; i had changed my content width to 1100 pix earlier then later changed it to 900px
my content space is big enough ; just that my content is appearing in the left side half portion of the full space – hope u get what i am trying to say.
what do i do now ?

i changed the colour of the navbar as per instruction found in an earlier reply but the hover is still a blue colour -can u plese give css code to change that
also to change the colour of the header of the recent post widget from blue to a colour of my choice

My images are not centered or full size, even though I have tried setting all alignment options as centered. I have also tried turning the alignments to “none” but this does not work either, even though the post and image widths are the same.

Please help! Am I missing some other override setting?

?Hola Ceslava! …and whoever else may be able to help. I really love Marla and and I am using it for my site, “diioma.com”. I was just wondering if I could get help with a couple of things:

1. I was editing the CSS of the theme, and now the loop doesn’t seem to work properly on mobile any more. Instead, when I got to the site through a mobile browser, it just lists entire posts. You can check it out to see what I mean exactly if you’d like.

2. I understand that the sidebar on the home page adds widgets above the posts in a format similar to that of the posts, and I think that’s really cool. However, for the purpose of this site, it would be easier to work with a more traditional looking side bar on my home page, fixed on the right or left side. Do you know how I could create this?

Hi, I’m trying to change the width of the theme without having to manually change it numerous times in the CSS. Am I missing something, is there somewhere where I can set a global width for the content part (single page/post content) which would then be reflected everywhere. For example, I have now hardcoded the new width in the CSS but that messes up the social.php as it is with the old width and the fb, twitter & g+ like buttons are in the middle of the page. Hi, I’ve been fiddling around to try to make my website‘s static page body transparent. I’ve tried adjusting a few different sections by styling the background of the page in the custom css field and nothing is working. Part of the site background is blue, which I changed in the options, but another part in style.css is white?

So maybe my transparency styling was working but I couldn’t tell.

I guess ultimately I’d like to make the primary content area transparent, to show the grey background. I hope that makes sense.

I recently switched to www.remarpro.com from wordpress.com and was using candela theme. I downloaded this theme today. All of the individual blog posts and pages show up as a tiny single column within their individual page, is there a way to widen the area of the post?

My images keep distorting and filling the column instead of attaching to the page at their desired size. What am I doing wrong? I just want a small image here that is not cropped square like a thumbnail.

Hi there! Last night, I unintentionally removed the search bar that is standard with the Marla theme (I think I removed it, anyway). I’ve figured out how to get a search bar back on my page, but instead of being on the far right side of the page, it is now on the far left. I would prefer for it to be on the far right side, as it originally was, but have no idea how to do this. Any help would be very much appreciated!

I was trying out Marla theme on a site I have built that uses some shortcodes in the posts. I really like the way the site would look and work in this theme, but in the home page or catagory pages where it shows infinite scroll of posts it just show blank space where there were shortcodes to display content.

A few of the things that are impacted frames around images (images are gone), spoilers to display answers to questions(answers are gone), star ratings options for readers (yup, gone too).

All the shortcodes work just fine and everything shows up when I look at the individual post, but it is gone in the home page post list or catagory post list.

Is there something I can do to make the shortcodes active everywhere?

PROBLEM: Either the first time a user loads the main page (sometimes), or if they go to another sub page (like “About” or “Contact”) and then comes back to the main page (almost always), the posts overlap each other very badly so you can’t read them. They basically “stack up” on top of each other and the only way to “fix” it is to click and drag the dimensions of the screen until they “unstack” and flow into a different layout.

When I test my site at different resolutions for mobile, tablets, and screen sizes at quircktools.com/screenfly it happens there too, no matter what I do but most especially at “smaller” sizes like 15 inch screens and below (not really that small). Sometimes the initial main page load is fine, but almost always, when I click to another page and then click back to main, the layout has changed and the overlap happens.

HELP? ?? I really want to keep this theme but this is a pretty big issue right on my main page.

I was hoping to get my Lab’s Nav Bar to stay fixed instead of scrolling. I am aware of the customization options under “Header Image”, but the boss would like the nav bar bellow the logo, fit to the page as seen on our Lab Site;

We where hoping to have the navigation bar stay in place as we scroll, as it appears now but without reappearing as the user scrolls down. The flicker that happens when the nav is scrolled past the top of the page is not desired as it is now, however.

I was wondering if there was a change that can stop this flicker (maybe a way that stops javascript from putting the fixed class in?).

Marla is a fantastic theme that gave me what I exactly was looking for. I am completely new to wordpress and trying to figure out css codes.
My site is 40hefte.com and i do customize it nowadays. I was able to make few changes via plugins. But there r few things that i would like to know how to make:
1. Bringing menu to the under of logo, to the middle. as you see there are only 2 navigation menus (home and “?laq?”), and it’d be better if they appear in the middle
2. How to change label for “home” menu, from “home” to “?sas”
3. On each post, there are facebook, google plus and tweet icons on right side. can they be hidden or deleted?
