Greetings. Thank you for your time and help.
I have a question about image formatting in the theme Magic Magazine.
I have loaded a great image into the Welcome Page, but it does not appear correctly when the Welcome Page is served. I am running WordPress on a localhost installation, so I do not have a URL for the Magic Magazine installation.
The image appears better in a widescreen desktop view than in a smartphone view. This theme is designed to be responsive, and does a great job of making text readable on mobile devices. Unfortunately, a great deal of whitespace appears between the bottom of the image and the top of the article text when viewed on a mobile device.
In both modes, desktop and mobile, the caption does not appear as part of the image presentation. It simply isn’t there.
In both modes, the text begins immediately, and I mean immediately, after the image stops. The effect is somewhat jarring. I believe there should be at least half a line of text between the text and the image. I would like the caption to appear below the image by half a line.
The image appears in proportion, with no stretching or compressing along either axis, and fits perfectly left to right. It is an image designed for Facebook postings, and I believe it has basically the same dimensions as a mobile phone snapshot.
Please advise on how to get the image to appear above the article text, with about half a line between the image and the caption beneath, and half a line between the caption and the article text beneath, and with the caption text in a slightly smaller font than that of the article text.
I am a complete novice, not a seasoned CSS programmer. I know how to access the CSS file for editing, and I can make any changes that need to be made, if you can send instructions. Please indicate which file I will be editing, provide a long chain of text from the file with the area to be edited somewhere in the middle, and indicate clearly exactly which text I am to change and how. I have to find and identify the text and change it, without actually understanding the programming itself.
I haven’t edited any of the CSS files, so if you can acquire the original files from the downloadable package, they should be a 1:1 match to the ones I have on my installation.
I’ve downloaded the latest version of this theme.
Thank you very much. I hope this post goes on to serve the users of Magic Magazine well for quite some time to come. Magic Magazine is a fantastic WordPress theme.
