I am getting the following error message after updating the theme:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /www/htdocs/xxx/wp-content/themes/xxx/functions.php on line 15

Line 15, 16 and 17 of the theme functions.php are:

wp_enqueue_style('magazine-body-font', '//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family='.str_replace(" ", "+", of_get_option('magazine_posttext')['face']).':100,300,400,700' );

wp_enqueue_style('magazine-title-font', '//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family='.str_replace(" ", "+", of_get_option('google_mixed')['face']).':100,300,400,700' );

wp_enqueue_style('magazine-title-post', '//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family='.str_replace(" ", "+", of_get_option('google_mixed2')['face']).':100,300,400,700' );

I expect this has something to do with the php version on the server which I am not able to change.

Does anyone have a solution? Many thanks for your help!

The front page looks great on web, however, posts do not display the “Featured Image” or “External Featured Image.” Ironic, since the theme’s namesake being what it is, you’d think it would feature images.

Even worse, the right hand column is pushed to the bottom of the page on mobile.

Moreover, the “Format” radio buttons don’t seem to have any effect, or at least the effect I was expecting (displaying the “External Featured Image”). The setting is per-post too, rather than site-wide.

No “Featured Image/External Featured Image” is a deal breaker.

I can’t seem to find where to alter the height of the top nav bar that sits between my banner and the content of the site. Anyone?

Want author name to be clickable on main page, and visible once a reader click into a post. Currently, the main page shows the author but it’s not clickable (taking the reader to other articles the author has written), and on the post page the author isn’t listed at all, until the very bottom ‘About’ section.

I would like for it to say all rights reserved and designed by in addition to including the reference link for my social profile. I don’t see any code for it in the footer.php file.

Lastly, is it possible to change latest news to featured stories and have the actual featured stories appear?

Does anyone out there have a better breadcrumb function (in baztro.php) coded for the Magazine Style theme? I’d like for the breadcrumbs to actually reflect the clicking path and also be able to click links in reverse and have theme links go to where they are supposed to go.

When ever i open this theme on mobile its menu just shows as desktop which will look ugly. Is there any provision for menus to look responsive in mobile device?????

I have just installed Magazine Style. I tried to save my options in Advanced Options but it is not getting saved. Is this reserved for Premium version?

Really like what ive seen so far, but im wondering if something is possible.

The header area above the menu bars seems to support a small logo/graphic. Is it possible to instead fill this area with a banner?

Id also mention that the social icons seem to be in this area, and for my purposes it would be ok for them to overlap (be on top of) the banner image.

Any recommendations for accomplishing this? Thanks

I want to create a page with a table, listing the articles, date created.

How can I do this ?

I tried to upload breadcrumbs code in functions.php !!
Before pasting the code, I copied the whole functions.php code and pasted it in my notepad !! Later when i pasted breadcrumbs code and saved it !! I was getting some parse error missing at line 24 (something like this )!!

Then immediately i deleted the whole functions.php code and the pasted the one from my notepad !! It showed the same thing again !!

I felt that i messed up something !!

I have tried this a lot of times but was getting the same thing !!

Finally i opened my cpanel>public html>wp-content>themes
The mistake i did was, instead of deleting a particular theme i have deleted all the themes!!

Now i can’t see my site,can’t upload a theme !!

when i try to upload a theme in wp-dashboard it says directory is missing !!

I have just installed this terrific-looking theme, but the home page has no photos, and I can’t edit or add anything. Please help fast!

When viewing my website on an iPad or iPhone, the right side bar shows up where it’s supposed to only on the home page.

On all other pages of my side, the right side bar shows up beneath all of the main article content and not at all on the right side. Please advise.

Open theme header.php in theme editor > search for “seooptimized” and replace with “magazine” and save your file. theme will work prefect.
