I have created a child theme that uses Louis 1.0

Do I need to update the parent theme to the latest version? When I tried it messed up my theme and I don’t want to go through all the files again.

Is using the older version likely to cause any conflicts with WordPress or Woocommerce?

I am having some Woocommerce issues and wondering if the old parent theme might affect this?

What have been the most significant changes?

While reviewing louis.1.0.18 theme style.css I noted 2 possible issues:

line 1660: “;” no text just an empty “;”
line 1668: top: 1px solid #e7e7e7; – assume it is border-top:

I am not a programmer just hobbyist – please disregard if I am incorrect.

The Louis theme I am using has a narrow main container. Is there a way to adjust the size of the container? The ultimate catalog plugin needs more room to display more products per page. It need to be wider. It is set up for widgets on the right which I am not using. Any help would be appreciated.
