We utilize Portfolio > Project Types via our theme Karuna > Karuna Child. Recently our site shows the error “There has been a critical error on this website.” when using the links to the project types. We reached out to support and they said,

“It appears the current error is generated by the current child theme, Karuna child. This is the error is displays in the logs:

PHP Fatal error:  Uncaught Error: Class “Jetpack_Portfolio” not found in /srv/htdocs/wp-content/themes/karuna-child/functions.php:42

Activating the parent theme or fixing the code in the existing one should help render the projects correctly once again.”

We?looked at the parent theme’s functions.php file and did a search for “Jetpack_Porfolio” but had zero results. If reverting to the parent theme would resolve the issue, wouldn’t that be somewhere in the file? Even if it was, doesn’t the child theme look to the parent theme to get most of the content required to function, and then the child theme is mostly our personalization changes, if any?

Reverting to the parent theme would buckle our layout and result in days of project work for our team, which does not have an internal developer. Any assistance resolving this error is highly appreciated!

I am writing you because I created my website on the theme KARUNA and I can’t change the color of my sub menu when it highlights
I would like to change the purple for the same blue as seen on the top bar.
Even after numerous searches I didn’t find how to do it. Do someone knows a CSS that enables to changes the color of the submenu?

I have my blog hosted with Bluehost with theme karuna. I made some updates to one page and one article, and although updated, the readers only see the previous version, without the alterations.

I contacted bluehost support and they told me I should talk to you, because the issue is with the theme. Response from Bluehost support below.

“The issue is with the theme you are using . You will need to check with theme provider they may provide any update or steps to resolve this as we do not have access to theme settings”

Hello, I’ve just added social icons to the footer on a site (see included link) and the first social income appears as a circle but the rest appear elongated. I’ve tried a number of basic things to solve this but I am stumped as to why this is occurring. Might someone here know? Thanks, -Neil

I am trying to center the footer here, and have tried every alignment/column alignment, but it is still off. I am using the table block for a full width footer. Is there any additional CSS I can add to make it fit?

I created a home page which I published to test that it displayed as I wanted. It was formatted correctly as a full-width page.

However, when I go into the homepage setting menu and select this page as the home page, it becomes narrower than all of my other pages.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I need some help navigating how to change the default footer credit in the Karuna theme. Currently, it defaults to “Proudly powered by WordPress | Theme: Karuna by Automattic.”

However, I would like to change this to “? 2022 Famici Wine Company”

I am having trouble locating where to change this. It does not appear to be in style.css file or in the footer.php file.

The footer.php file is included below and I have tried to change the <?php get_template_part( 'components/footer/site', 'info' ); ?> line with no success, however, if my understanding is correct, that is where this info comes from.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello all! The main page of my website “width” on desktop is exactly what I am looking for, but when I go to the blog or store, everything gets narrow. How do I increase the width of all the pages to match the home page? Thanks!

I’m trying to add a phone number on the social menu like the one in the Karuna theme. I only want the text to be clickable. I don’t need an icon. Every time I try to add the phone number, it shows as a link icon and is displayed on the right side.

Does anyone know how to add a phone number and make it be on the left side of the social bar?

I have looked at all the threads on how to change the color of my blog date. However, nothing worked for me. It is currently red. I want to change it to a purple or blue color. Any help on custom CCS would be much appreciated.

When the black text links are clicked, they navigate to the correct content page. We’d like to force the links to open to the relevant accordion menu item and need some assistance with how to do this.

Example: Clicking “construction services” in the first column should open the Construction Services accordion menu on the linked page and scroll to that area. We’ve tried using anchors, but it doesn’t open the accordion menu and that is what we’re looking for.

We are working with both the News and Portfolio pages where all our posts/projects are shown. The Thumbnail image that appears for each post is sizing to 685 x 456.

I modified the CSS to show the image in the size we want, but it’s making the images blurry:

The original image was uploaded at 2000×1332. When I inspect the image, it says the rendered size is 1170 x 400, but the intrinsic size is 685 x 456 and the intrinsic aspect ratio is 685:456.

In Functions.php I see this:

add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );

	add_image_size( 'karuna-featured-image', 685, 9999 );

but if I change 685 in our child theme to 1170 it doesn’t change anything; the images still appear with an intrinsic size of 685×456. I want to keep the aspect ratio and let object-fit and object-position do their jobs.

I am using a Cover and want to modify the CSS so that the text appears on the bottom with a background bar.

This is all I have so far:

align-self is not working, it’s keeping the text in the middle of the image.

I have the opacity on the overlay set to 0% because I don’t want it over the entire image, just the bottom so the text stands out.

An example screenshot is below. The text as it is appearing with the code currently is in the middle of the image. How I want it to appear is at the bottom. Any help is highly appreciated!

Despite it working before, I now can no longer see my social media banner menu. I no longer have any social icons at the top of the page, despite having them all linked in the social media menu tab in customization. I have no idea where to find how to change this so I can see the social media menu again. This seems like a glitch but it has persisted for weeks.

I have a problem with my page links including Site Logo, footer menu and any page button(except the any Submission Form button).

When I click on the links, they just disappear after click and appears back when I release the mouse click. Header menu is working perfect.

Down the bottom of my page I would like to add pictures next to my recent posts and previous post. I also want to change the colour of the text (the purple text). And one last thing how do I get rid of the dates in my url?

I have stumbled upon another problem. I am currently working on this page of my website: [ redundant link removed ]. I am using one image (image block) and have aligned it on the left side with text (heading block “Gründer” and text block, starting with “Johannes…”) flowing around it on the right side in the block editor. Everything looks exactly as it should in the editor.

However, saving the page looking at the frontend, the text just appears below the image as you can see at the link above.

What can I do to solve this? I tried the media and text block, but that did not allow for the text to flow around the image at all.

I am working on my website and would like to add a link to a relevant German social network site (Xing) to my social media menu. The icon is not covered by Karuna, which is why the chain icon is displayed currently.

I have tried to solve this with the Menu Image plugin, which allows me to add images to links in menues. However, I still only see the chain icon.

Is there a tried and tested way to add new social network icons to Karuna’s social media menu?

Another doubt, submenus in mobile devices are not collapsing individually in the button menu, ?is this the expected behavior or I’m doing something wrong?

I am trying for a while to change the user name email from my personal email to my website’s one. I go in users, change email and add the new one and a message with There is a pending email change to xxx. The new address will not become active until confirmed.

But I don’t get any confirmation email on my newly added email. For several months now. Keep cancelling, keep trying.

Is anything that I am doing wrong?

Do I need to change Gravatar profile and email first? what am I suppose to do?

Can anyone help with menu colour on mobile?

I have managed to change coding following all your previous instructions to change default colours from purple and lime green to my colours which are #ea5f40 as primary and #535353 as hoovering one on PC.

It is not working on mobile though. On mobile, there is still the default purple with lime green.
