I just started my personal blog. Since I planned to keep it simplistic, I overlooked complex themes like Kahuna (and all other Cryout Creations themes). Until after spending two nights looking for suitable themes, I finally decided to give Kahuna a go.
It turns out that Kahuna is so customizable that it can be made into a very bare-bones simplistic theme with a few choices in the customization menu. And no matter what you do with it, it remains thematically coherent.
If you have seen this theme and thought “maybe it does not fit my need…”, my suggestion is
that you are probably just fooled by the screenshot or the demo site. They do not lie, but they can only tell you one of the many ways how your site can end up look like. You’d better just install the theme yourself, and give yourself ten minutes to explore the 100+ options that comes with it and see how it can adapt itself to fit your needs.

With Kahuna I have managed to build a website that serves the purpose. Have some problems on the way but I’m not a professionalist so I had to learn from the beginning. I’m satisfied with the result – see for yourself darpodrozy.pl. It’s not in English but you can see the layout and different options I used, explorion only Kahuna. No css. And the theme is beautiful itself.

Im a user of cryout creations theme since nirvana theme and they produce high quality themes for FREE … much better than some of the premium themes out there.

I used twenty seventeen until I found Kahuna.
It is just as elegant but it has far more options and very clear documentation. It’s the best! No plug-ins needed ??

You can see some features are there and seem customizable, but it’s hard to make them work. There is no info how to display each of the features and short tips are not enough.
Also, you can see from the support section that all of the requests are unsolved, so the theme seems abandoned.

For my websites I use Parabola as well as Karuha, which are both great flexible theme’s with a lot of customisation possibilities.

Ayer 30 de noviembre se hizo la actualización de Kahuna a la versión V.1.0.0 y han dejado de funcionar algunas utilidades, como es la visualización correcta de los iconos en la página de inicio apartado “Landing Page/Featured Icon Blocks” y siempre sale el aviso de “Non-existent changeset UUID” y no se puede visualizar los cambios.

For a free theme, the amount of customizable features are incredible. From adjusting the header size to choosing hundreds of typography (including google fonts) to changing the width of sidebars or main window. There are multiple ways to display posts, an easy to use customizable landing page that allows you to insert your own pages. You can change the colours of the site to anything you want. So much more all for free! Also, it just looks beautiful and stylish. Best free theme out there.
