All pages centered in IE8

Re. JASOV 2.2 – I like this theme and all works well in all browsers except IE8..

For some reason all pages and menus are centered in IE8. Does anyone know a fix for this problem?

Not sure what the deal is, but I can’t get the background images for this theme to show up on my site:

I did the auto-install, and tried a manual FTP install. This is a squeaky new vanilla install of the latest WP, all plugins turned off. 2010 looks fine when it is activated.

Any ideas?
